Xiaomi Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds US$23.99 ~ AU$31.60 Delivered @ Gearbest

60

Good deal for Xiaomi fans. The control audio commentary is apparently in Chinese, but hey, so is the instruction manual.

I know GearBest is not for everyone, but I'm not in a hurry so ordered one.

  • Good price cheapest I can get in Singapore wholesale is $30.90

    • Wouldn't that be better than this deal?

      • +2

Better, but not obtainable for most of us.

    • May I ask what the website is?

  • +1

I have these. I don't find sound quality is that great. Better see reviews before buy…

    • Meizu EP51 seem to be held in higher regard. Cost more too however.

      • +1

I've got both, and much prefer the meizu's (imho better sound, more compact/comfortable). However, as Steptoe notes, they're more expensive, so a bit like comparing apples and oranges.

        • Though not much more when on sale.

      • I must say they they are comfortable and battery last a decent amount of time. I haven't used any other similar ones before, so can't compare. Only not happy with the sound quality.

        • Which ones are you talking about? Meizu or Xiaomi?

        • @vodkamilkshake: look up (comments thread) and live?
I am adding to my previous description of the Xiaomi earbuds I have.

        • @El Cap: It gets confusing after reading through all the replies.

        • @vodkamilkshake: no worries, mate.

  • Not having any experience with these, I wonder if it is possible to update the device from Chinese to English, or whether this is hard coded. Firmware upgrade.

    • Hardcoded reportedly. Not 'confirmed' from a technical aspect but xiaomi rep on the board confirmed there's no plan to allow the option or functionality.

I'm a xiaomi fan, and this is probably my first disappointing purchase. I haven't learnt an easy way to determine on/off (ie. Lights), and instead of it being something like a rising/lowering tone to indicate on/off (respectively), the 'event notification' is spoken in Chinese.

If you get your head around it, it's only 4-5 sayings. I just find it silly to lock it to verbal compared to universal tones/alerts.

Edit: only had them a few days, others with more time spent using the headphones may have other feedback

      • Look on the outside of the grey oval bits, on one of them an led lights up and flashes slowly when on and flashes fast when in pairing mode. I expected a light near the on button but it's not there, it's on one of the earpieces.

  • I got them, the sound isn't the greatest, but then again, what are you looking for in $30 wireless headphones right? Also, the commentary is in Chinese but does it make a difference? You turn it on/off and there's not much else to it.

  • I had a pair for a week and lost them. Sound quality is poor.

  • Not a massive fan mine stopped working after two weeks and would skip with my amazfit. I know it's not the watch because my jbl reflect minis work perfect.

  • Are they better than iPods?

  • I went for a similar style of wireless earbuds, got these Bluedio ones for ~$12 delivered and can't fault them - 3hrs+ of audio playback, voice control, acceptable audio quality (for the gym / jogging), sweat proof.
