Whew! I was about to pull the trigger on the $4.99 one on Steam last night! Good thing I fell asleep before I could! Had loads of fun on the free to play weekend. Action was great, story was great, graphics were great, game mechanics were great. Plus, it's LOTR. Who doesn't love LOTR?

Yup. Big game. What's your download speed like? I was getting 3 Mbps on my old ADSL2+ connection. I'm now sitting on a blazing 10 Mbps connection (on good days) using mobile broadband. I can finally watch 1080p YouTube videos without waiting for it to load every 5 seconds.
I was downloading at an average of 500KB/s…..there were of course jumps to up to ~900 and down to as low as 10 …
@Zachary: I went on to Vivid Wireless after ADSL got so slow in my area. More and more young families moving in. And slowly, they're realising that ADSL is so slow, so now I see more and more Vivid Wireless access points popping up. That's now also slowing down my connection some days. But on good days, I get 10 Mbps. I'm happy enough with that.
@flaminglemon: There was a post where someone said that this size of a game was nothing, and was able to download the entire game in 30 minutes….. I want whatever he's got if he's downloading 42GB worth of data in 30 minutes!
@Zachary: 1.4GB a minute = 0.023GB a second = 23.89MB a second.
NBN's top speed is 100 Mbps, which is about 12.5 MB a second.

I want my gigabit link! Actually, by now we should at least be getting 10Gb/s up and down…..given most modern storage drives/arrays are already saturating the 1 gigabit a second write speeds……

Not even worth $2.99, the devs had some serious issues understanding the respawn rate of the AI.
You go in and clear an entire fort of enemies to get to one of the leaders, sometimes the enemy respawns outside the gates before you even exit. The leader has a habit of fleeing when he sees you so it makes sense that they mingle with 1,0000 units that you have to destroy to get to

That said, this is a fantastic deal. I might have to add this one to the digital scrap heap at that price.
