Even cheaper through GOG with a VPN if that's your thing.

    • Which country?

      • Ukraine or Moldova according to the linked deal.

Just bought it with this method, $36.15.

It all depends on the game….if it's an exceptionally good game, it will retain its value.

If it's a pile of doo doo it will be on sale within a month of launch

I bought Bioshock Infinite for ~$15 about 6 months after it came out. I bought Doom (2016) for ~$10 2 years after it came out. Both of those are good games.

        • Dragon Age: The Veilguard, pal. Check this one out.

With all due respect to Doom and Bioshock, BG3 is much bigger game with much more replayability. It's not even comparable.

@Azro: Ok then. How about me buying Skyrim for $8.74 USD 2 years after it came out?

            • @MrZ: What is your point? BG3 is worth every penny. Some games see discounts from the first day. Some games never have discounts. Ask their publishers why is it that way.
Skyrim had the Creation club with paid mods, by the way, so their plan was to make money from it, hence discount on the main game.

              • @Azro: Skyrim categorically did not have paid mods 2 years after release.

        • +4

Why do you think it's bad? This is literally the first time I've seen someone say this game is bad.

        • Fourth best PC game of all time on Metacritic doesn't lie:

          https://www.metacritic.com/browse/game/pc/all/all-time/metas…

The real value of BG3 is that it has no in-game microtransactions. Buy once and enjoy all the cool content they keep releasing without spending another dime ever.

While Blizzard tends to sell their post-launch classes as DLCs, Larian humbly calls its DLCs, patches that are deployed freely. The last one was released in Apr 2025 which included 12 new subclasses for each character class.

Bioshock infinite sold about 11 million copies world wide at the 2 year mark
Doom 2016 sale figures after 2 years is unclear, but they know it sold about 2 million at the 1 year mark

Baldur's gate 3? sold 2.5 million copies whilst in early access. As of February 2024 we know they sold "well over 10 million copies" : source, Their 2 year sales figures are unclear.

Bioshock and Doom may be good games, but based on sales figures, it's fair to say Baldur's Gate 3 has outsold them and is performing better…If you were running a business and your product was still selling well (despite it being 2 years since launch), would you discount it heavily? or would you capitalise on it?

    • Nintendo sells 10yr old games for 60 to 80 and the fan boys still buy it

This is such a gamerbrain take.

Nothing has changed about the product (in fact, it’s arguably much better now). Why would it automatically be cheaper because it was released two years ago?

The only reason to discount it would be because there isn’t enough of a market for it at $x so they have to discount to drive sales. Could be because it’s been superseded (like every COD/FIFA/etc), it’s gone to gamepass or that it’s tapped out the initial hype and everyone who was going to pay full price already did that. Clearly none of those are the case here.

agree to a point , but some games just dont discount - look at lies of P, it was free on game pass but now best you get it 50% off which is still $40 AUD,

Worth the money. I usually won't buy a game over $10… but this? Work of art.

This and expedition 33 feel years ahead of almost anything else in industry at the moment.

While this is expensive it is absoutly worth the pricetag. I think my first playthrough clocked in at about 150 hours once I remove about 50 hours of save scumming.
    Highly recommend supporting Larian

support GOG but with steamdeck…hard choice

    • Xbox ally x might be the solution to all our problems. Maybe.

This game is a masterpiece. I picked it up a bit cheaper though, also from GOG. Prices in USD.

BG3 is an incredible game. Well worth the money.

  • Agreed, fantastic game. I sank many hours into it, should get back into my save but was stuck in moonlight tower

    It's a great game.
The details, the Voice acting. An awesome experience.

*Coming from someone who doesn't usually enjoy crpg.
