Solved - Wanted to Cancel Australia Post Loadngo Prepaid Visa - How to?

Yes I know I am stupid to even sign up to the Australia Post LoadnGo Prepaid visa but I did it several years ago and I didn't know better. I have not been using the card very much and now decided to cancel the card. To my surprise I can no longer login to the loadngo website.

I used to be able to login here:
https://myloadandgo.auspost.com.au/cholder/samlLogin

Now it doesnt anymore and return an error. Have been like this for days now.

Then I register an account with Australia post and then try to add the prepaid visa to the account. I get as far as entering the CVV number and the access no. When I click "Add" the site does nothing.

Very frustrating. I think there is less than $20 in the account and i just want to get rid of it.

Anyone have any idea? no. Bikies won't help.

Thanks

spend the remaining balance to zero it out. however much it is. then cut up the card. done.

    • Thanks xoom for the reply. do u have the same card?

In the past, when the credit card expired, without me asking they automatically sent me a new card and deduct something like $7 from the account.

If I use up the card balance, will they still send me a new card and then ask me to pay?

If it is just a matter of depleting the balance and cut the card I will be very happy to do so. I just dont want any loose ends.

      • How is the load ang go cards getting funds? Tied to your bank account? If not. The im guessing your loading up with cash a different way. If you dont load it up. I remains 0 balance.

Dont have the card. Going by the preloaded visa card that the post office sells also.

        • It is not tied to the bank account. In the past I reload by cash at the Australia post counter. So u reckon once the balance is near zero they won't bother to renew the card when it expires?

@jeeg: Think of prepaid visa/mastercard as giftcards. Use and throw.

      • deduct something like $7 from the account

It is not tied to the bank account

        So which is it?

or go into an australia post store and ask.

        • @altomic: Thanks. I ask Australia post counter. they said they don't deal with prepaid cards query. All queries to be directed at the help desk.

        • they deducted $7 from the remaining balance on the card. It is not tied to a bank account. Sorry I wasnt clear.

@jeeg: So make sure you spend the remaining amount in one go.

Hmmm. Post questions on a random forum or call the card providers 24/7 helpline? Tough choice.

Call our Load&Go Customer Support Team 24/7:
    (+61) 1300 665 054 (call service charges may apply).

    • Fair point. Not that I did not want to consider calling helpline first but I have in the past contacted them on several queries and they bounce me from one person to another and in the end they say they will call me back but never did.

that being said, I will call them this time.

They merged Load&Go with the regular AusPost accounts a few weeks backs.

You need to use your AusPost login, not the card one.

If you don't have an AusPost account (or more likely don't know what it is) you'll have to sort it out with their customer service.

    • That explains the reasons why. I will give them a call. Thanks.

What did they say when you called them? Seems like a better way to get an answer.

  • I managed to call them and they say there are something wrong with their systems lately but said the best way to cancel the card is just to spend it and cut it up. Exactly what xoom said.

    Thanks for all your help.
