Mid Range Phone with No Bloatware?

Just looking for a phone that doesn't have bloatware. My current HTC One M8 has annoyed me too much with all the HTC software on it that takes up space and gets constantly updated. My first phone was a budget Huawei which was just stock android and that was great. I was thinking of a Motorola Moto G5 or iPhone SE (I also like smaller screens). So what are some good mid range phones?

I have just switched to a Moto G5, and a mate has the G5+. We're both pretty impressed with them, a few quirks but overall pretty decent phones for the $.

  • I found my HTC One M8 relatively bloatware-free, once I disabled some of the standard HTC inclusions & replaced them with Google-equivalent stuff (launcher, calendar, etc.) - other manufacturers are way more annoying to de-bloat, in my opinion (looking at you, Samsung!). I assume you would've spotted this deal for the Moto G5 recently?

    • Yes don't worry Samsung's only including 5 apps to do one thing, what are you worried about?

  • got a moto g5 a few weeks ago and loving it good price.

    Another vote for anything Moto.

    Mine's a G4 Plus, and I love it.

  • Definitely the Moto G range! I love my Moto G4 Plus.

  • Yep. Moto G

  • No Apple fan but at least there won't be bloatware. It'll be locked down though :(

    • Being "locked down" is only an issue if there's a litany of idiotic decisions made with ROMs though, something Android is guilty of because an ad broker makes it amongst other things.

Apple users do not face these things.

  • Aside from Google phones (which are definitely not midrange anymore) the Moto series phones hit the mark when it comes to no bloatware. Definitely consider the G5+ and 32gb/4gb variant as you'll probably regret only 16gb of internal storage down the road. The better specs are also worth the extra cash in my opinion.

  • Well that's pretty unanimous, thanks guys
