Armani Exchange Up to 40% off sale

30

Received SMS this morning: "Armani Exchange mid season sale starts today. Up to 40% off selected styles. See in store for details." I have bought a few nice things from them at their last sale, but still quite pricey. Great if you want to treat yourself or your partner to something different. Quality is good, items well made. The better items go quickly. Enjoy.

Mod: Edited title to correct spelling and to add details

  • i never figured out why they call it exchange as a brand.

    • Just a name, but this is Armani's 'cheap range'.

      • Yes,

There are the American designed clothing.

Georgio over at Italy doesn't touch these at all.

    • The name is inspired by "Buffalo Exchange", which is a big chain of clothing consignment stores in the US where customers can "buy, sell and trade new and recycled clothing": http://www.buffaloexchange.com/index.php?pg=6

But yes, Giorgio has no input into Armani Exchange. The clothing they sell is massively overpriced relative to the quality; it's not a bargain even at "up to 40% off". :)

      • Not sure where you are getting your info from, A|X is part of the Giorgio Armani group of companies which caters for younger clientelle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armani

        • They were a client of an advertising agency I worked for a few years ago, so I know quite a bit about the company. (And also why I know where the inspiration behind the "Exchange" part of their name comes from.)

A|X is NOT part of Giorgio Armani S.p.A. In fact, if you visit armaniexchange.com you'll see it says "A|X Armani Exchange and our other trademarks appearing at this site are the trademarks of Presidio International Inc." Up to 2005, A|X was operated by Como Holdings Ltd., a Singapore-based fashion company, with the "Armani" name merely being licensed. In 2005, Giorgio Armani S.p.A. and Como Holdings decided to spin A|X off into a new joint venture called Presidio International Inc., with Giorgio Armani S.p.A. taking a 25% stake in the new company.

As I (and maybeamacy) said in our comments, Giorgio doesn't personally design at all for A|X nor does he have any input into the operations of A|X. (He doesn't play much of a role in Giorgio Armani S.p.A. now, either.) Design, manufacturing, promotion and operation of A|X is all handled by Presidio.
