  • Hi Jose,
How far in advance can you book to LAX with Virgin? Is 12-13 months in advance possible?

    • Usually 8-10 months in advance, when are you thinking of travelling?

IMO "From" prices have no real place here.

Feel free to show some example itineraries where these prices are possible.

    • Reason they are "from" is cause legally if we put a price without from we can get in quite a bit of trouble.

      • @OP you misunderstood the question.

@djkelly69 made a legitimate request, as you can see from reps with outstanding credibility such as @iwantthatflight @tightarse who always provide examples

Many of your previous posts in the past have just been a platform for free (re)advertising of existing deals available through every other travel agent. Anyone can CTRL+C CTRL+V.

The airline provides the offer/deal/rebate, and the offer is available through not only your (franchisee?) store, but also any other store in across the nation - AND - from personal experience my local store beat your (re)advertised "bargain" price (only by $10 tho) AND flight centre had the same deal for around $33 less.

I negged this deal as I hate seeing store reps using Ozbargain as a platform for free advertising, getting personal sale numbers to achieve monthly sales targets, and pushing the same deals.

I a store rep legitimately provided a deal, which lead to increasing sales targets, then that's fine. But i wouldn't encourage CTRL+C CTRL+V "deals"

  • @jv: Why I don't see you coming here to comment about this post regarding benefit for specific person Jose Bishop?

Does this post conform with ozbargain rule? Private contact in the post.

I received an email from Flight Centre this morning advertising same (LAX at least). So not exclusive to this lot.

Yeah I got a pop up ad with this from Flight Centre, so it's a Virgin sale.

It is a great deal - $849 direct to LAX (no stops) esp. from Bris is about as low as I've seen it

      • Yeah, not exclusive to us, its a VA promo sale. :)

        Epic hey!

  • Not the cheapest fares? Did a test search on VA website and I get $450 MEL-HKG during that period.

Check Google flights (https://www.google.com.au/flights/?gl=au#search;f=BNE;t=LAX;…) … there are lots of options for $857 return. Negging this deal cos its just a trick to grab your email/contact info. Should have at least put specific dates! Can depart all the way up to Nov 2017!

    • Based on your search there is 1 $857 with Air NZ which stops via Auckland for 3 hours.

The fare we are offering is DIRECT which on the link you posted the same flight goes for $1543…..$694 difference…But that's not a good saving at all.

Reason we ask for details is so I can hold flights as availability disappears quickly…..As anyone who enquired about that $3k RTW Business Class. Those who sent details got them, those who didn't didn't.

      Happy Flying :)

      • In addition, any travel agent can provide the same "deals" you provided. The only difference is you know about Ozbargain and exploit it for your self advertising.

Show us a deal that is unique and only provided to your store, or your branch, or your chain, or even your state.

RTW fare I was able to get a better price from a local Escape store, who beat your price by $10 (booked 3x J class fare trips for 2 people) … but they were too lazy to answer my questions or requests …. so I gave my business to FlightCentre, who bettered your advertised deal and advised it was a national sale, provided by Virgin and not unique to their store (points for honesty and disclosure).

The FC agent also gave me options, and answered all of my questions, and was proactive to call me back.

    • Agreed, I travel this route a lot and having a direct flight is really important to me. You can get flights stopping in Fiji or nz for about $800 but this deal for virgin nonstop is the cheapest I've seen for direct
