ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 TI 11GB Turbo Edition VR Ready 5K HD Gaming HDMI DisplayPort PC GDDR5X Graphics Card TURBO-GTX1080TI-11G

Noticed this on the amazon website earlier today. This has been lower priced previously but the US dollar makes this pretty competitive.

As far as I know EVGA is the only manufacturer with global warranty - perhaps someone can clear up if amazon will cover this as a global purchase. Something to be mindful of.

  • how long will it take to get your money back from mining

    • +1

depends on how good you are at digging

    • Never.

      • Completely unknown at this point considering the volatility of the market.

"How long is a piece of string" kind of question at this stage.

You'll probably know a lot more after August 1st.

        • He didn't write a question mark.

    • Assuming that everything remain the same, this card hashes around $4/day (229 day ROI). With OC you can may achieve $5/day (183 days).

      • Is that before or after the cost of electricity is taken into the equation?

    • at $2.50/day, only 500 days left to go!

Good deal. I got mine with the 20% off deal on eBay in June for AU$894.20 (via Computer Alliance).

Mining is so easy I already own 20% of nvidia fro m my profits.

    • Incl electricity bill?

      • +1

also own 20% of AGL now.

        • lmao.

  • This thing runs really hot btw. I had one of these and the cooler on it is hot garbage. Even worse than the Founders. To make things worse the board is not reference, so it's harder to water cool.

    • What kind of OC are you pushing to make it run so hot?

      • I've the EVGA FTW3 and I OC'd by about +600mhz on the memory and mine ran to about 72c.
However, when I edited the fan curve in Afterburner, it was topping out at about 55-60c tops.

In other words, don't rely on the "Auto" option of the fan if yours is running a little hot.

        • Yeah I find a lot of the time when people have heat issues it can be remedied by tinkering with the fan curve or changing your case air flow configuration. Sometimes though people just want to go balls to the wall overclock and would be better off with water cooling.

        • @airal3rt: Yeah, the curve made a huge difference for me. The FTW3 has pretty awesome fans but they didn't seem to be even going beyond 40% when left on auto.

I'm thinking of grabbing the EK watercooler when I'm over that side of the world in a few weeks.
Looks the business and doesn't look like it'd take up heaps of space.

        • you are running your memory at 15gbps????

        • @Ryxxi: 5000mhz + 600mhz.
          Clock at default.
Dropped power to 50% to keep power consumption/power use in check.

        • @Deviner: Oh, I normally use the GPU z clocks, which is 1476*8 for base mem clock. So adding 600 to the 1476 gives 15gbps

      • Decent memory overclock. It's true if you crank the fan you can get half decent temps so maybe I should qualify. For general use it's perfectly fine, but it's still worse than the founders temp wise.

  • it doesn't ship to where i live. sunshine in Vic…..

  • Decent card I bought one for $894 from computer alliance from this deal a month ago-https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/314043

  • Anyone's order shipped yet? It says ETA 1-6SEP yet it's still preparing for shipment, I don't see how it's gonna get here!
