IIRC though it won't get you the month's Gold, it does bring back your old Gold games.
If that turns out to be true, I know a couple I'll quickly finish up this weekend that I didn't last time I had Gold because I miscalculated by a day or two like a common idiot.

That heading seems a bit misleading.. it's free multiplayer access, not free xbox live gold.
Destiny 2 Beta isn't worth the time. It will take longer to download and install than actually playing it. It is nothing like the first Destiny Beta. This is opening story mission, a strike and two PvP modes. You start off max light/max level with a class exotic and all legendary gear. You can explore planet Nessa through the strike until your team reaches a checkpoint and you get pulled forward, but there is nothing to do when exploring. No public events and no patrols.
While I wasn't expecting too much from the Beta, I thought it might at least let us level a few levels up starting from 1 and at least explore a planet and do some patrols like the first Destiny Beta. This Beta just makes Destiny 2 feels like a DLC.
