  • are these cheaply made that they would require replacement pretty early on?

    • Not really…. the app tells you the frequency. Normal use 1-2 years. It's a guideline anyway so visual inspection is a good idea.

Few $ cheaper there for the same items (I think) and from a seller with more feedback.

  • Off topic, but does anyone know how to use that cleaning tool? I see the blade for cutting hair but what's the comb for? Mines still inside the box.

    • For combing the black bristles on the main brush.

      • Initially thought it was useless but after combing I realised that it picks up a fair bit of hair that I hadn't removed with my hands only

  • This product can be found cheaper on aliexpress as listed by users already in this thread.

    • I'm happy for a rep to change the link to one of those and update the post. Good find, cheers

Seems like furniture is the only thing Xiaomi doesn't make.

They license some stuff they don't make. EG the Xiaomi Yi Dashcam is make by Yi Technology and not them.

But yeah, they're making a stupidly high amount of consumer tech at the moment.

      • Even the Robot Vac was outsourced to Rockrobo (that's why it's wifi client name is rockrobo :) )

        • Interesting… so Xiaomi make the software to let these devices talk to their phones, I suppose, while the hardware makers are outsourced, and they just slap their name on it? That makes a whole lot of sense now.

So are Xiaomi products really that good then? I mean, I like their ROMs (been using it since it was first released on the Galaxy S), and I've tried a few of their Redmi phones, which I also like.

    • They do mattresses. Does that count?

  • Good price!
