Found some great prices on surge protector boards, particularly the 6 and 8 port boards. Includes free delivery. I've used Belkin Surge Protectors for many years and had no issues, had have always heard good things from others about their Surge Protector power boards.

Belkin Surge Protected Power Boards:

Belkin 4-Port with 2 USB charger Ports - $33.60 Delivered

Belkin 6-Port with 2 USB charger Ports - $36.80 Delivered ( $36 updated price due to $1 increase on ebay site)

Belkin 8-Port with 2 USB charger Ports - $42.40 Delivered

I was going to pick my 6port up at bunnings, but their pricing is: 4port for $38.48, 6port for $46.56 and 8port for $53.82, and an OfficeWorks Price Match still didn't match the ebay sale.

They should've put the 3A USB on it

Would've been nice, but 2.4A per port is pretty decent! Still covers most phones these days. I'm sure I'll regret saying that in a few years time… :-D

      • Will this be enough to quick charge my new Ozbargain LG G6?

        • The LG G6 uses Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 protocol which can utilise higher voltages than these powerboards produce, but at 2.4A these ports will still charge your G6 pretty quickly.

      • I've never had a dual 2.4 charge 2 devices at a decent rate.. Maybe i have dud adapters… Non belkin.
        I charge a T100HA ASUS lappad and a powerbank.

The ASUS wall charger is a 5V 2A… It's a conspiracy. I'm telling Donald this is unacceptable

        • I wish someone would make a powerboard with QC USB charge ports in it. Is there a legal reason why nobody seems to have done it I wonder?

I'd be all over those if/when someone makes one.

        • @Click_It:

Qualcomm are just trying to monopolise everything, and then sue

Congratulations are in order for not saying "should of"!

      • Is it like sleeping with twenty eight year olds?

  • Sweet, was in need of a decent 8-port one. Thanks

  • I'm getting $36.80 for the 6 port

Has anybody found a decent-rated power board with right angle/offset plug?

Shallow fridge cavity is posing an issue.

  • Regarding CyberPower Surge Protected -

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CyberPower-8-Way-Outlet-Surge-Pro…

Says it has Surge Energy Capacity of 2750 J.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-CyberPower-8-Way-outlet-Surge…

Says it has Surge Energy Capacity: 900 J.

    Whom to believe? :-\

I've purchase a few of these in the past and love them, will definitely be purchasing more!

I have one of the Belkins, I hate it. Its so unnecessarily big.

    • +4

Not only that, i find the spacing in the power outlets so little!

      • What did you replace it with?

  • Belkin 8 board says: "Rated to withstand a power surge of up to 900 joules"
Thor A12BF surge board says: Max energy dissipation: 6080 Joules (at UL1449 standards: 2050 Joules)

Anyone know if the Belkin board rating uses the UL1449 standard or something else?

  • Anyone know of a brand name 6x port power board with individual switches for each socket? USB ports would be a bonus.

    Bought one for the wife.

    OP-
    Note coupon "PLAYING" not valid.

    Used "PLAYER" instead.

    • Thanks mate, have updated!

      • No worries

  • Never used surge protection. Never had a problem. How do you know this isn't the same as my car crash protection watch that, when I'm wearing it, protects me from crashing my car (100% effective so far).

  • Here is another option Desktop Power Station With 3 USB Charging Ports

I bought "Click" brand 4 port With 3 USB charging ports power board for $3 last month from bunnings. It was in their clearance bin. Nice quality …

  • How do these compare with https://www.pccasegear.com/products/22740?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI… which is always $35 ?

  • The electrical ratings are bullshit full stop and next to made up.

    Line to Neutra (L-N): 37500
    Line to Ground (L-G): 15000
    Neutra to Ground (N-G): 15000

  • I've used Belkin Surge Protectors for many years and had no issues,

I've not used any surge protectors for many years and had no issues. Should we stop buying pointless products?

    • I used to take mine to LAN parties where twits were prone to spilling drinks into powerboards

  • Can anyone confirm this can do 2.4A per port not 2.4A total on the USB please?

    • the website is confusing it says

TWO 2.4 AMP USB PORTS FOR CHARGING
Charge your portable devices quickly while protecting them from damage and data loss thanks to two integrated USB ports. Ideal for smartphones, tablets, these USB ports charge at 2.4 amps, offering faster charging times than traditional USB ports, with added protection.

      AND also

Dual Port 2.4A Universal USB Charging (shared)

  • If you are after a board which also protects the coax connection (for a TV for example) and phone line (for a modem/router), Futu also has a CyberPower model that does this. It's cheaper than Shoppingexpress by a couple of dollars. It doesn't have the USB ports though.

The 8 ports + 2 usb is $32 at shopping Express for one more hour.
Edit:the shipping fee kill the deal~
