    I was just comparing the Sony A6000 and the Panasonic Lumix DX85. I ended up going for the DX85 because of the awesome 4K video capabilities, but I think honestly I would have been happy with both of them. The A6000 has a long, awarded history for a reason.

    • I think you meant GX85. it is a great camera.

      • I did mean GX85, thank you.

        • I did the same recently. The rotating screen and mic input (which the sony does not have) sold the GX85 for me.

        • @Awsam:

          I think you meant G85. GX85 doesnt have mic input not flip out screen

        • @aldoduco: You seem to know quite abit about cameras and photography. Do you have any pointers for noobs starting out? Online courses or places/landscapes to practice on?

          Thanks.

          @KLoNe:

          I more into videos.

          you can check these youtube channels: Tony & Chelsea Northrup, Anthony Morganti, YuriFineart. good training for taking and post processing.

        • @aldoduco: Yep youre right. G85.

  • Just want to know if we can claim 50$ voucher from Sony as it say eBay excluded

      The invoice will be from the good guys so nothing to do with ebay apart from buying it there if that makes sense.

      • +1

        Do you get an actual Good Guys receipt/invoice?

        • +3

          Yes, you do.

    • That's a good pick-up. I'm curious too, but I think it's excluded (I'd like the A6000…)

      From the T&C;

      To be eligible to claim, individuals must purchase either outright or with retailer finance (lay-by and purchases from duty-free, eBay, parallel import stores and second hand retailers excluded) an Eligible Camera Body or Eligible Camera Lens (defined below) from a participating Sony Australia authorised dealer during the Purchase Period and the purchase must not have been made under any other offer or discount provided by a participating Sony Australia authorised dealer ("Qualifying Purchase Participating Sony Australia authorised dealers include, but are not limited to: JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Camera House, Ted's Cameras, Michaels, Diamonds, Digi Direct, Video Pro, Sony Centre, Sony Store Online, Georges, Digital Camera Warehouse, Myer, Costco, Photo Continental, Camera Pro, Camera Electronic, Bing Lee, and The Good Guys.

        you get proper TGG invoice. I claimed last month from Ryda-eBay and got the gift card without any issues.

          Most physical stores that have ebay account will give you store invoice, I have purchased from several and all of them have store invoice. Such as Teds, the goodguys, digidirect, Binglee and so on.

        • Thanks very much for the info! :)

        • +1

          I successfully claimed Sony gift card from Digidirect eBay during this same promotional period. (I did strategically photograph the store receipt to cut off payment method -ebay PayPal).

  • Does the A6000 take a external microphone. Anyone know

    • Nope. No mic input but there is a workaround.

      • What's the workaround if you don't mind me asking? Record on my mobile? Jokes aside.. really.. how?

    • +2

      It's a two-second Google. The camera does not have a mic jack, so you can't plug in a mic with a 3.5mm jack.
      But you can use microphones that connect using the multi-interface hotshoe (the square socket on top of the camera, behind the lens).

    • +1

      Yes, but only via a Multi-Interface shoe connection.

  • Is the A6000 better in low light than a Canon G7X II?
