Samsung Evo 128GB Micro SD Card $59 @ MSY (Store Pick-up)

160

OZBargainer "munchkin" had posted a smashing bargain the other day.
That was at MSY, about a TP-Link Audio and WiFi Extender @ just $5.
I booked two units online, but got reply it had gone Out-of-Stock.

While browsing MSY online store, I came across this micro SD card bargain.
A whopping 128 GB of storage, on a Samsung EVO class 10 UHS-1 micro SDXC card.

At $59, could this be the lowest price for a genuine 128 GB micro SD card ever?
I'm yet to see a better deal anywhere else, including online shops.

This is a clearance deal. So to bag one, gotta make haste.

As others said above, the U3 version of the 128gb Samsung evo card on amazon is better if you can wait for it. It was around the high 50 or low 60 from memory. If it's for a s8 or any other device where you wouldn't mind the U3 speeds then i would wait for the deal to come back again. If you don't want to risk it this isn't bad.

Still waiting for the day the 256 gb version is a more reasonable sub $120 or something price.

  • I have an off topic comment. I bought a Lexar 128GB (633x) microsd with a lifetime warranty. It became read-only after 1+ year of usage. I failed to erase the content with all kinds of tools, e.g. diskpart, dd on most of the OS before claiming the warranty. I read on the net that Sandisk accepts warranty claim even the microsd is broken into pieces (https://superuser.com/questions/834475/how-do-i-wipe-a-micro…). So I contacted Lexar with my concerns, ideas and want to return the card with a hole drilled in the middle. Lexar refused. Samsung might have better service.

  • U1 Vs U3.

If one just want to have massive mobile phone memory (no 4K shoots or such intense write speed needs on that device) I think U1 would suffice?
Space would be taken up by WhatsApp and Telegram Media, plus mp3s, and the odd max 1080 movies (even if loading a bunch of such movies would mean taking an all night transfer)

Is there a U1 256 GB out there worthy of approval of OZ Bragainers?
