Taobao Just Launched in Australia

For those whom are unfamiliar, Taobao is essentially China's Answer to eBay.

Interestingly Taobao Australis Facebook page links purchasers to this page as their Australian site.

Looking through their launch party images, I don't hold much hope for their customer service

  • Do they not have an English portal, like Aliexpress?

    • Not that I can find. I left a message asking the same thing on their Facebook post announcing the launch.
Perhaps they are just targeting Chinese citizens in Foreign countries?

For those wondering, there are four shopping sites in the group catering for slightly different markets.

    Taobao: eBay.

TMall: Retail. Commercial only (registered businesses etc), no private sellers.

Alibaba: Wholesale. Anything you want so long as you order a container load.

AliExpress: Low volume wholesale (including samples). Well, it was. Now it's eBay without the auctions.

Taobao & TMall are/were Chinese buyers only, you could order from Australia if you were keen enough.

They all use AliPay (load via AusPost) or credit cards for payment. PayPal officially accepted again, apparently.
