I wouldn't buy anything from this company, the company is rude and abusive to customers and their attitude stinks. They lie and they delete feedback.

They changed their terms and conditions after orders were placed and then referred to them as if they had been in place all along. They refused to respond to emails, facebook and Instagram posts were deleted and they just ignored everyone.

    "YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN REVOKED
IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT YOUR ORDER HAS BREACHED THE MR SIMPLE'S TERM AND CONDITIONS POLICY.

YOUR USE OF A DISCOUNT CODE HAS FORCED YOUR ORDER TO BE REFUSED AND REVOKED.

THE MONEY SPENT ON YOUR ORDER WILL BE REFUNDED IN TO YOUR ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY USING THE PAYPAL REFUND PROCESS.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU REVIEW OUR POLICIES, ESPECIALLY THE BOTTOM PARAGRAPH THAT OUTLINES THE USE OF PROMOTIONAL CODES AND SALES PERIODS HERE."

    This is what they added.

    "SALES AND MARKDOWN PRODUCTS

During the event of a sales period or for items already marked down from their original recommended retail price, all discount codes and promotional codes may not be used. Mr Simple holds the ability to withhold any stock or refuse/revoke any purchase made during these circumstances.

Mr Simple also holds the right to refuse or revoke any order in which a discount code is used even on products that aren't sales items. Mr Simple further holds the right to refuse orders where the use of a promotional code that has been distributed for multiple usages has been applied.

For all orders that are refused or revoked by Mr Simple, the money spent on that order will be refunded using the PayPal refund process."

Yeah, that's pretty crappy. They didn't even add it to the terms and conditions, they added to their "Privacy Policy".

      Pre sale
      Post sale

Hey zappy32, got nothing better to do? For the sake of anyone else here old mate zappy32 has posted 2 copies of t&c's claiming them to be pre & post sale. Don't take my word for it, just check the dates of the webarchive links posted. They are both from a few years ago & completely irrelevant.

        • Yep, just a few days before and after when the above linked sale was when people are claiming they were changed post sale is it not? Once again, perhaps put it in the T&Cs because it has nothing to do with your privacy policy. At least your posting gives people a fair idea of what your customer service is like.

Hmmm, yes in my view a company should not hold the customer accountable for the limitations of their ecommerce platform ie. just ensure codes don't work when they shouldn't so you don't mess your customers around. you can not expect them to read your t&c and cancelling orders on this basis sends out bad publicity on your company.

From my experience, in the last sale they had run out of one item I was sold and had to get there stock organised but they were reasonably responsive about the issues they were having.

Also I do think their product is good!

Also I do think their product is good!

Which is a shame as they screwed themselves through their conduct. Refusing to speak to customers about this is absolutely pathetic and deleting feedback on facebook and instagram even worse. I did not have a single email replied to nor posts on facebook or instagram which were all polite. You sure see what a company is like when something like this happens, not only did they change their terms and conditions AFTER the order but they were abusive to their customers.

I don't care how good their product is, I will never deal with them again and I will warn others to prevent them getting treated the same. There are not many companies that I will never deal with again but the list of Australian ones is growing as they have no idea about customer service (both in-store and online) and the way they handle issues is poor at best.

        • Whoa, I didn't realise (read post properly) T&Cs were changed and enforced post transaction? Thats very serious. I'd suggest you give consumer affairs a call as I would say this pretty clearly comes under unconscionable conduct. If you simply received an apology suggesting that they made a mistake and oversold supply then I'd let it go as mistakes happen, however if they are overselling or reneging on sales frequently then you could assume that they were willfulling breaching some consumer laws for unfair practices.

Fair trading and the ACCC don't care, unfortunately our so called consumer agencies are and always have been utter useless at enforcing anything. Even when they do decide to enforce a larger issue they get penalties that are a fraction of the extra that the companies made so there is no deterrent there.

Good warning. Also their recent post failed to say "up to" 70% off until Member damoo spotted that https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4920632/redir and it was reported.

Not in the market for a denim jacket but read the T&C's out of curiosity. I'm not a lawyer and don't make a habit of reading these but it does seem like it's a laundry list of how they are not responsible for anything they say, do or sell. Inspires confidence. Is this standard these days?

    • +4

      Is this standard these days?

No, only amongst the dodgy companies. Companies that have huge markups like this one should have much more flexible policies that are customer focused.
