Blizzard Australian Store - Price Protection?

Does anyone know if purchasing digital copies of games (or other digital content) from Blizzard, and paying in AUD, is eligible for price protection (say using the Coles Mastercard)?

I'm confused at where the payment is processed. Blizzard Australia does have an ABN but I'm not sure if this is the one the transaction would be processed at when paying in AUD.

It is also possible to pay in AUD via PayPal, would that work?

How does price protection work, do you get a full refund?

    • It means if the price of the item is reduced within X months (2 years for Coles Mastercard, 6 months for 28 Degrees) then the difference is refunded to you.

  • Refer to the PDS.

    item(s)
An individual article, object, piece, artefact or unit, or one that is part of a collection or set. It does not include services.

It sounds like it doesn't include digital content.

    • Well when you buy a game at say JB or EB, you get a physical box with a physical CD, but what you're really buying is the game - when you purchase this online it would just be a digital copy (no physical items included).

Edit: for digital content I mean like DLC, rather than in-game purchases or micro transactions.

you get a physical box with a physical CD

        Exactly, that's the difference.

Anyway, no point arguing with me. That's just my interpretation of the PDS. How about contacting them for an exact answer?

  • Honestly it sounds like a lot of effort
