Orbitz use the same booking system as cheaptickets.com, so it's the same prices before discount.

Cheaptickets always have either 16%, 17% or 18% off, with the code shown on their homepage.

So whilst 18% off is good, the whole 12 hours only thing seems like a beatup to create a sense of urgency when you can get practically the same thing on a permanent basis from cheaptickets.

    • One advantage orbitz has over CT is the ability to use cashrewards or topcashback (though I'm not sure if using a coupon code voids that). With that said, I still often see the hotel I wanna book being roughly 10% cheaper (before coupon) on CT and that's why I tend to book though them more.

It's currently 2% on TCB (1% CT) and 3% (2.5% last week) on EBates (1.25% CT). Also another advantage, you can get 3% in Orbucks to use. I find Orbitz and CT usually the same every time before coupon code (after logging in).

CT has 16% off right now too using FEELINHOT (Book by — 8/20/2017 Travel thru — 12/31/2017).

    • I use CT regularly as well however part of the value I find with Orbitz is the ability to apply Orbucks immediately after purchase.

(profanity) Orbitz, I had my room in my cart and waited til it ticked over and all of a sudden get

We hate it when this happens…
The price of your trip has changed from $35.04 to $43.79 average per night. Rates can change frequently. Book now to lock in this price.

there has been no other bookings in the 10 mins I looked, with the number of rooms the same and when using another browser on a different IP I get the original price

      Far out that's dodgy.

    • That usually happens to me when browser logs me out and I dont see member discounted price till I log back in.

Title should say "selected hotels only". Everything I've tried to book for Jan 2018 returns: "Sorry, your hotel isn't covered by this coupon offer."

It's telling me it's expired , both before and after the start time

    • use all caps for the word FLASHSALE and login if I use flashsale it tells me expired

My personal advice, STAY AWAY from Orbitz. I had a very bad experience dealing with them and many of my friends all say the same. Once they got your credit card details they tell you what to do instead of serving your needs.

  • why is this getting to featured bargain when there's so little hotels that I can actually book the discount with? not having much luck here!
also as the king of the north above me said - the saving is negated by the consistent offerings at their sister business cheaptickets

with these and cheaptickets sales the trick is you cant use the coupons on any major chain hotels but almost all others will work

  • Really bugs me how these travel websites pump these coupons and "discounts" constantly yet every time exclude all the popular and more widely used brands. Really annoying.

They need to word these sales differently because they are so restrictive its almost false advertising

  • I normally book flights + hotels with Expedia…would it cheaper to book with Cheaptickets next time if they have the usual coupon codes (eg. FEELINHOT)? or are those coupon codes only applicable to hotels?

Why not use the Booking.com promo $40 back on an $80 booking
    http://www.secretflying.com/posts/promo-40-off-80-hotel-spen…

  • Been using Orbitz heaps since the 20% booking and been loving the Orbucks and pretty consistently cheaper prices. Never used Cheaptickets but might have to have a look

  • Where do you put in the code?

I'm on the confirmation page, but can't see where to fill it!

    • I believe it will only show if the services you are looking are eligible for discount.

If they are, then there is a drop down menu saying "Enter Coupon or Promotion Code" just above the "Debit/Credit Card Paypal Masterpass" options (default selected option is Debit/Credit Card)

      • Thanks - tried through the app and it isn't eligible for the code :

  • Nice one

Need to book some hotels now

  • heading to Cambodia in 6 weeks, but a 12 hours sale in the middle of a work day feels a little silly, not enough time to work out the location i like the look of in my hourly 5 minute reddit.ozbargan.facebook break

    • just use cheaptickets rolling 16% off its the same site anyway
