Replacement for Coles Reloadable Mastercard

My Coles Re-loadable Mastercard is going to expire soon, and with no way of getting replacement/new card, any suggestion what other re-loadable prepaid card out there, besides Auspost Load&Go with ridiculous fees and charges of course.

I need a prepaid credit card when doing payment to someone whom I do not fully trust with my daily card, e.g. my VPN subscription, Virtual Host in US etc.

    Velocity Global Wallet?

    • Yes Velocity Global Wallet is very good. Auspost Load&Go has been cut up and thrown in the bin.

Divipay. You can buy any denomination of virtual Mastercards (e.g. 1c, $1 etc). You can pay via a Visa or Mastercard (they got rid of AmEx). No fees and currency conversion is Mastercard rates.

    • I've just been added to the waitlist. Any other companies that do the same thing?

      • Oh there's a waitlist? They didn't have that before.

Haven't seen any Australian companies that do the same.

        • Yep, got this email after registering:

Thank you for registering for DiviPay.

You have been added to our wait list. Very shortly you will be able to split the cost of anything both online and in-store! Keep an eye on your inbox as we will send you a login link in the coming weeks.

          Thanks again for your patience.

Hopefully I will be able to use it soon as it looks amazing, and I'd be happy to pay 2%

        • Update: Emailed DiviPay and asked if there was anyway to fast track the waitlist period. Sent back an email saying they had just restarted their beta program and you can sign up at this link https://secure.divipay.com/signup/. Used it a few times and it works flawlessly. Also they aren't charging 2% fee right now which is pretty cool.

Also, @neil said that you can add any denomination to the virtual mastercards. This is half true. The amount can be anything above $1AUD, so you wouldn't use it for some of the aliexpress deals that are on here for example.

          @realfancyman:

          Cool.

If you need something under $1, just load with a $1. If you remove the card, they will automatically refund you the balance within a week or so.

        • @realfancyman: Hi DiviPay rep here! I just wanted to say thanks for using the service. We have made some major changes to the website and platform in the last few weeks. It is now easier to create and manage virtual cards and very shortly we will be launching a browser plugin for virtual card creation. As the product is still in its infancy it would be great to hear any feedback or suggestions.
          Thanks agan!

@divipay: Hey thanks for updating the thread. That's great, and I will test out these new features and let you know how I find them. Cheers

    • Thanks for the suggestion :)

Seems like they are in beta. Also, do you know whether you can recharge/top up money into the virtual mastercards? Or you need to get a new virtual one everytime you run out of credit? My VPN and hosting server charge the CC every month. So if I need to change the CC info everytime it runs out of credit, it will be a hassle.

      • You currently can't but they said that was the next thing they were working on.

    • This is bloody awesome.

Aw why did they remove AMEX that would've been awesome :( Guess it must've been too expensive for them.

I'm surprised there have been no other mentions about Divipay on Ozbargain except for the deal post which also didn't get much love..!

      • Can you buy Only1 Visa at Woolies at 5% off using the CashRewards eGiftCards, and load it with that?

  • Just get a Citibank Plus account. Separate from your everyday card, and no international fee charges. Easy to top up.

    • I think having extra bank account to maintain is a bit troublesome. Will definitely think about it :). Thanks anyway.

  • Slightly off topic but do any of these allow loading from a prepaid visa/mc gift card? Coles use to allow it but doesn't seem to work any longer.

  • can you top up DiviPay using a prepaid visa card ? can you top up a coles reloadable card with DiviPay ?

    • can you top up DiviPay using a prepaid visa card ?

      Yes.

can you top up a coles reloadable card with DiviPay ?

It's just a regular MasterCard number, can you top up a Coles card with that?

      • Registered for a DiviPay account and tried today. Yes you can top up your DiviPay account with a prepaid visa/mc card but no, you cannot top up your Coles Reloadable card using your DiviPay virtual card. It errors on the Coles side with "Error processing payment".

        • Hmm that's funny? Wonder how Coles can tell. Could be because it's not an Australian BIN

        • @realfancyman:

More likely Coles is rejecting all prepaid and credit card BINs. They only accept debit cards.

        • @Obs: But the question is how can they tell that the Divipay one is not a debit card? It's not surprising I suppose though..!

        • @illumination:

Cards start with 5281 77 and appear to be Lufthansa Airplus Corp Credit. Probably just rejecting that.

  • Just open another ING account with a debit card? Or whatever transaction account you are using now, just get a second one. Then managing and loading should be a breeze.
