  • im not familiar with bike sizes, are these suitable for kids only?

    • Suitable for anyone (not only for kids).

      • My friend snapped the brake cables on the demo bike doing a sweet tailwhip in store.

        Take that Harvey Norman!

      • These are kids bikes only.

BMX for adults have 20" (or 22" / 24") wheels.

    • Depends how small you are…

      16" is only 40 cm !!!

      • im 6"2 100kg, dont know if it'll hold me :P

      • are you talking about the wheels or something else?

        • the title… it's a 16" bike.

im not familiar with bike sizes, are these suitable for kids only?

      https://imgflip.com/i/1tecb7

    • 20in is normal BMX size. These are smaller not suitable for most adults

    Whoa, training wheels… pegs….
Can you take it off any sweet jumps

    • The front pegs work for smith and toothpick grinds while the training wheels give you extra width to run over scooter kids.

      Napoleon Dynamite reference?

  • These prices are very good, $30 is a good deal.
But plenty of kids bikes in council clean ups though.

    • Does the council sale any kids bikes?

    • I like the police auctions best for bikes.
Will never pay full price again after watching what goes through.

      • +5

@DarwinBoy Can you please provide more information? Is there any website for this auction?

        • +1

Currently in Darwin it is done through pickles. Before that it was a small private auction company. Every 4-6 weeks pickles do a general goods auction and i see about 30-60 bikes go up. Conditions vary from almost new to complete rubbish and all brands. Prices for the newiah bikes is about 1/4-1/3 new so all bargains.
The only negative is waiting for a bike you like but if you are not in a rush its the way to go.

        • @DarwinBoy:
Is there any information online ?
          Thanks

        • +2

          @save50:
For me i go to www.pickles.com.au look for general goods in the NT section and they show up there. If you look there now it only shows one bike but any day now more should be showing.
It probably depends on who your local police departmemt operates with. Pickles has only been doing it for about 2 years up here.

        • @DarwinBoy:
          Thanks for the information.

  • Nice one save50 - Thanks

    • You are welcome.

  • Great deal, pretty sure this is the same bike used in this video https://youtu.be/WB56Sq2J-wg?t=4m09s

  • Out of stock :(

  • Damn too late, looks like both the 16" models are sold out.

    • Some are back to the stock: 12", 16" and 18" bikes.

  • Looks like all bikes with free delivery are out of stock.

  • Huffy Pro Thunder Bike - 16"
    back in stock.

  • most of them are available but free shippng is gone

    • Some are back to the stock: 12", 16" and 18" bikes.

  • Thanks op. $53 shipped is still a bargain so I've just bought one :)

These things weigh a LOT, because they're cheap and nasty. Many kids have been discouraged from riding bikes by being given one of these. It's extremely hard for a 35kg kid to pedal a 15kg bike. Buy them something decent, light and fun to ride, and they'll never get off it.

  • +1

Some Kent bought them all.. LOL

Guys you can search for bmx in Harvey Norman site and add it to cart from the search results.. Ordered the small one for my niece :)

    • Yup, searched bmx and ordered 1 rock on and 1 extreme.

    • This is very cheeky and also very smart haha. Just did exactly that. Thanks! Now to see what happens :)

      • +1

Some are back to the stock: 12", 16" and 18" bikes.

  • I got an email saying they ran out of stock on the 16" huffy and have a substitute star wars huffy that I don't care much for, so I added the 18" Kent one to my cart and ordered that too as my boy is about 105cm, then if that processes I'll just cancel my 16" order.

  • I got an email too, telling that Huffy Pro Thunder 16" has been oversold. They offered the Avengers 40cm Bike as a substitute. I went for it as $40 delivered is cheap.

    • Some are back to the stock: 12", 16" and 18" bikes.

  • Look like all back in stock. All the posted $30 bikes are still free dilivery.

    • Correct.They are back again.

  • Just received the Kent 16" BMX Bike from Harvey Norman. Any idea about the reliable professional bike assembly service mechanic for the same that wont be a burden on my pocket?

    • It isnt that hard to assemble. But better and cheapest would be to find mens shed locally and see if they will do it cheaply, alternatively try airtasker

  • My feedback so far for three bikes
    1. The 12inch Kent girls bike's peddles keep falling off, there is a small hole where you can see the frame, it is rusted with paint flaking, feels like a bag of bricks when moving it
    2. The girls 16inch bike did not arrive, instead a 60cm boys mountain bike arrived! Not very helpful for a 4 year old lol there may be a disappointed boy out there who received a small girls bike!
    3. The 16inch purple bike has arrive, haven't had a chance to assemble, this was going to be a bike for next year but I think I'll have a assemble earlier to make sure there isn't anything wrong.
