Dont forget their ongoing $300 Cashback on Smart TVs which brings it down even further!

    • Thank you for the info. I checked and it does seem to apply to eBay store too. This will make the price after redemption $2575 picked up, which refreshes the lowest price record on this model.

"To be eligible to receive the bonus, eligible products must be purchased at full ticket price."
"Full ticket price" is AU $3,175.

      • +1

I interpret that that you are purchasing at full rrp via EBay with a coupon used to bring the price day so it should apply as if you look at the Sold prices on EBay for this auction from today it lists full RRP even though a coupon was applied.

      • +2

U can still get the reward regardless of price I was in the goodguys on Saturday looking for a to and the sales assistant tried to say it's only off the ticked price but I pointed out no it's of the negotiated price and he said yes your right

  • +1

    That's an excellent price.

  • The $300 cashback does not apply.

    • I disagree.

      • It says To be eligible to receive the bonus, eligible products must be purchased at full ticket price. If you use the code then it will reduce the price , making it less than the full ticket price.

        • Nope. As far as Good Guys is concerned you have paid full price. Check out the sold items in the same auction.

        • @Spizz: Wrong again, the Good Guys website says the deal is ebay exclusive.

@bolinao: And yet in the terms and conditions it links to, it says that it does apply…

          https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cs/groups/public/documents/we…

          HOW TO CLAIM

          1) To be eligible, customers must purchase an eligible product as listed below (‘Product’) on sale between Thursday 20 July 2017 to Wednesday 9 August 2017 inclusive (“Promotion Period”) from any participating The Good Guys store, online or from The Good Guys eBay store to be eligible to claim a The Good Guys $100- $300 PAY LESS Payback eftpos Card (“Bonus”).

        • @jasswolf:

But also in the terms it says:

          3)
To be eligible to receive the bonus, eligible products must be purchased at full ticket price.

So if you use the code in this deal then you are not paying full ticket price.

        • +1

@bolinao: An ebay discount code is applied at cart on site, not in the Good Guys' invoicing.

A sitewide discount is applied by EBay themselves, and presumably they absorb the cost of it by hoping for more clicks and sales. So, the full ticket price is paid as far as GG's store is concerned.

The question here is, have they changed their terms and conditions with that footer on the page, or is it an error?

        • @jasswolf:

Doesn't matter any more, as the code has expired.

        • @bolinao: it's worth bookmarking in case there's any codes between now and 12:00 AM Thursday (there will be).

What's more, doesn't C5OZ apply? That would produce $2716 after cashback, the next lowest it's ever been (and likely will be until the next repricing + sales, presumably November-December, if ever).

  • -1

yes u still get the cash back on best price

  • Would love to know if someone gets the cashback as this is an amazing deal if you do.

  • I really need to stop going on ozbargain. Must resist. Ugh.

    • +5

It's a tough impulse buy still, at that price. If it was the 65" I'd be all over it.

Great price for this TV, but TVs aren't impulse purchases.

      • +2

Agreed. That's my main reason for holding off. Its a good thing it isn't the 65" as I would have caved.

        • I'm in the market for one myself, but secretly wish something would sabotage my purchase. So we're in the same boat.

Well I still need to buy a cabinet for the TV, so there's that..

If they made a 40" OLED for $2000 I'd probably cave. I'll put it in the study.

        • @lostn: Yeah.. I'm seriously considering one as a computer monitor.. but 55" might be just a bit too big.. I'm currently using a 40"..

  • A new low!

  • Looks like the $300 cashback is ebay excluded.

"Bonus via redemption. Time limits and conditions apply. Excludes eBay. Click here for full details and terms and conditions"

  • Damn, this would've been very tempting - I have been waiting for a $2500 price for the 55 C7T, and with the $300 cashback it would've nearly reached that!

  • Picked this up last night from the store and have set it up. Replaced my 9th gen Pioneer Kuro - very happy with this. The blacks are even better than my Kuro and far exceed any LED/LCD TV I've seen.

Can't wait to calibrate this bad boy :)

  • I was all ready to buy this but no 4:4:4 @4k @60hz.. as I have a 980ti which has HDMI 2.0 :(

    • +1

      Yes it does: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c7-oled#comparison_195

"All the common input resolutions are supported. For the TV to properly display 4:4:4 color, the HDMI input in use must have its icon changed to 'PC'. To play 4k @ 60 Hz @ 4:2:2 or 4:4:4 color, 'HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color' in the general settings must be enabled for the input being used."

The thing is, this is the upper limit of the HDMI 2.0a standard, hence the extra hoops in the settings (and possibly a firmware update).

EDIT: oh I see what you're saying… doesn't the GTX 980ti support DisplayPort 1.2? If so, just get a converter cable to HDMI2.0a, and you're sailing.

      • +1

Right. My 980ti is HDMI 2.0 only, not 2.0a. so you reckon I can just get a displayport to HDMI converter and it'll be 2.0a?

        980 has display port 1.2

        • I believe so, but this is the only product I'm aware of:

          https://uptab.glopal.com/en-AU/p-57/displayport-to-hdmi-2-0a…

And the shipping price is a little exxy…

        • +1

@jasswolf: After reading a lot of advice, 2.0 can display 4:4:4 @ 60FPS, so decided to get one today. All hooked up but with the cable that I have (cheap $11 4k MSY cable) i can only get 4:2:0 @ 60fps.. now to find a compatible cable.

but yes.. omg.. unbelievably good :) plus I have most of my desk back, as I was using a philips 40" and a samsumg 27"..

        • @Vladdo: It definitely can @ 8bit colour, but you will struggle to get 10-bit, which is what HDR requires.

If it extends beyond 8-bit, then it is rechnically above the HDMI 2.0 standard. Congrats on the buy though, it was a great deal and I'm annoyed that I missed it!

        • +1

@jasswolf: Found some settings that now enable me to get 4:4:4 uncompressed RGB, as you have to enable the mode on the TV.. Just watched some footage I shot with my 1DX2 @ 4k 60fps.. eyewateringly gorgeous..

Yeah, I'm not worried about 10 bit at all. It'd be nice but for the moment, it's so freaking awesome as a desktop monitor :)

That said, I picked it up for $3175 and need to claim the $300 eftpos card. I also bought it on my CC with price protection, so it falls in price over the next 6 months.. refund time :) I have serious doubts as to whether GG will honour those ebay purchases. I asked the sales guy today if there was any further movement on price and he said.. if I give it to you for $1 less, no eftpos card.

  • dammm i missed the deal, i hope goodguys do another deal
