You are an everyday occurrence and we never complaint.

        • -2

          occur or come?

        • +7

@stockastics: depends on if he's taken the blue pill or red pill…

        • +1

@homersyd: If he's taken the blue pill I hope I wake up in my bed and not his

        • @kronicmacstigator: and the Op would have to change his name too.

      • Ozbargain, brought to you mainly by TA.

    • Good job TightArse, I wanted to buy something but was waiting for a better deal!

    • Upvote first …then search for deals

  • Where were you yesterday when I spent $100? :(

I actually wanted to buy last week but wanted to give a few days in case something like this comes up (Wednesday is a good bet). It didn't so I got fed up waiting and purchased yesterday. And so of course it happens the next day.

And I forgot cashrewards. Of course.

    • +3

      You should have waited!

      • +10

Shopping on ebay is like trading shares now. Instead of buying when I want something, I wait around in hopes of a sitewide sale. They've been happening often enough that I've gotten used to them. And then it becomes frustrating when they don't appear, so you have to make a decision, buy now or wait some more? If you buy now, it will probably come up afterwards. If you don't, it doesn't come then you kick yourself for waiting in the first place.

      • +6

its 2017 and people are buying stuff on ebay without a coupon code?
        Wow.

        • +1

I know. It's just they don't give you any notice.

The sitewide coupons used to be rare. Once every quarter or so. Back then you wouldn't wait if one has just passed.

Now they've been happening more frequently so you hesitate on buying when there's none. But if you knew there wouldn't be another any time soon, you'd just buy and not wait. But how are you meant to know?

        • I didn't think there were any frequent enough eBay codes applicable to the purchases we need to make

        • @lostn: Amazon effect?

  • +4

Still haven't found anything to use my $20 off $100 spend thanks coupon on!

    • Me too! I just feel like I need to use it too but then that would be impulse buying… hmm

    • +1

hope ther is a way u can share the token so people can share unused tokens

  • Can you combine a best offer purchase with this?

    • yes

  • Do these usually include auctions or only buy it now?

    • auctions too

  • +4

Man, eBay is destroying my wallet with 10%/15% site wide deals. I've purchased far too many 1/4 scale statues lately :-( time to buy another!

    • scales of what

    • +2

Why are you only buying a quarter at a time?

      • +12

Because of the 'statue of limitations'?!

    • 1/6 figures for me lol

      • +1

I started with Nendoroid, moved up to the 1/6 Kotobukiya etc and then found First 4 Figures/Pop Culture Shock/Sideshow and now my wallet hates me :-(

  • Damn bought something yesterday.

  • +3

now should i make the purchase or wait for %15

    • what would you rather?
      Left hand the item now
Right hand 5% of the cost, in cash

      theres your answer

  • is it off postage too?

    • It's been a long time since I saw a coupon that included postage.

But if sellers are smart, they'd move the postage into the item cost. It would be better for the buyer too.

      • they already moved postage into final price and been doing it for years

        • +1

          Not all sellers do that.

        • @lostn:
I've had an item for $175 + $25 postage in my waiting list. When 10% deal came out I was about to buy the item, but last minute decided to look for a similar one. Found exaclty the same product for $200 including delivery and got $20 off rather than $17.5 if I had chosen the watched item.

      • You forgot about final value fee and Paypal fee. The sellers are smart, some of them move the item cost to postage to lower the fee.

        • eBay has been charging FVFs that include shipping for quite a while now.
and Paypal has always slugged the seller for the entire amount received.

  • I hate how it always excludes the 'travel' category, I need cheap luggage!

  • +1

You guys. I just decided to buy the LG V20 since the V30 is going to have curved edges. Went to check the price on eBay, and then came to OzB to check when the last eBay % off was… and this was at the top, posted 12 minutes prior.

It's fate, right? Right?? (Somebody say yes so I can buy a new phone without feeling bad)

  • I need some woolies gift cards…….

    • +5

Thanks for letting us know, TA and I were only just chatting about whether or not you needed them.

  • +9

For some strange reasons my last credit card statement has Paypal written all over it..

  • -5

Just wait for Amazon to arrive, 10% is nothing special

    • lol you got an arrival date for us to wait for?

  • +1

Is it just my computer or are others getting voice over commercials on ebay now? I never noticed it before, and my ebay is going real slow - maybe because of it.

  • I just bought my wife in Moto G5plus for $349 and hour ago… I got the $20 off so really only $15 difference. Still annoys me.

    • +5

eBay selling wives? .. and people are buying?

      • +4

He is experiencing buyers regret too

        • his username checks out..

      • +1

        Factory seconds

        • Some are refurbished or damaged stock

        • @bti_jet: You'll find those on gumtree

    • Depends - could get the grey stock version now for $296 like I did last week with 10% off code. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Motorola-Moto-G5-Plus-XT1685-…

      • Was leaning that way. But in the end. I just bought the good guys 3/16gb version. $20 more but Would rather have local stock and an au plug qc charger. It was a close race between them though. Qd_au seem to be ok for warranty. And local warranty is only 12 months anyway.

        • Fair enough…I decided to take the gamble, given for $300 it's almost a throw away item.

When you buy through them, they supply a travel adaptor - doesn't look quite as aesthetic, but I can live with that…

        • +1

Yeah I think it was a 50/50 call for me. I have young kids and worry about those questionable plugs being knocked loose in their reach. The extra 4/32 specs are very nice you won't regret it.

  • man why is the period so short every time its like a spurt of moment discount

    • It's called marketing. They get people excited as it's limited time so people buy on impulse and that probably generate more sales than having it longer like those myer sales that is always on going.

    • +2

      *spur

      • +4

Given the username spurt may be more fitting.

  • -3

its not ready yet i just tested arhhh

  • +2

That awkward moment when you use a coupon code 1 minute early…

  • Crap. I bought something an hour ago, checking all ongoing ebay coupons and deals extensively again, and again.

    • +1
