So we know that codes aren't generally allowed, but the PayTo coupon is auto applied after you 'redeem it' and usually those redeem codes are okay to use. Does that mean that code PAYTOPBDD is permitted for cashback? @gotyourback

    • keen to know

    • Would love to know too. Has been asked many times on previous deals with no replies

    • I am about to get something I will update here

    • This gets asked every amazon cashback deal and no reply… reps just don't know

      • Code works.

    • +1

Hey hey thanks for hanging in there while we check on this!

Haven’t got a final word from the team just yet, but generally if a code’s entered manually, it’s not eligible for Cashback.

If the PAYTOPBDD code is auto-applied and you’re able to remove it, it’s probably safest to remove it before checking out just to be sure your Cashback tracks properly 👍

I’ll update here once we get a clearer answer from the team 💚

      • +9

Just heard back from the team, and the PAYTOPBDD code is still eligible for Cashback ✅

Thanks for hanging in there while we confirmed that 💚

        • +1

What about items that have something like, "Prime Savings, Save 9% at checkout", which auto-applies an extra store discount at checkout (on top of an already discounted item)?

          e.g.
          https://www.amazon.com.au/SHIMANO-FC-RX600-2x10-Chainring-Te…

        • +1

How about using the ZIPPBDD15 code? any word if that one is still eligible for Cashback?

          • +1

@pixxelpusher: Checking with the team on both, the Prime Savings and ZIPPBDD15 code. Will update once I get confirmation

            • +5

@gotyourback: Good news, both the Prime Savings and ZIPPBDD15 code are eligible for Cashback

        • I cancelled an existing order and re-created the order to take advantage of the PAYTOPBDD code.

Will the new order be tracked instead for the $10 bonus?

        • Awsome, thanks!

  • So it does not count of the product is on sale? For example prime day sale?

    • +1

If the price is discounted without you needing to do anything apart from add it to cart and pay its all good.. most items on amazom have a % discount all the time because they are just auto price matching other stores.

  • +5

Still haven't got my $5 from the last deal but my $50 order to qualify has already tracked…

    • +2

Inflation report: ghosts now filing cashback disputes over $5

      • +5

If their CB claim is rejected, I hope the SB customer service team set the claim status to Ghosted.

        • (profanity) cb locked me out of my account and zero customer service to get back in.

  • Can I cancel ordrrs and redo?

    • +3

If it hasn't shipped and the product is still in stock, I don't see why not.

  • +1

Really good but seems to be a bit of a delay with tracking.

  • Hmmm thought SB forgot about Prime Sales so went ahead and made a big purchase earlier today without it

  • +6

in the previous deal, a lot of people (myself included) had cashback tracking issues when ordering multiple items from the same category.

i've emailed their support and was told to open a missing cashback claim for the one item that would've tracked for $0 anyway. i replied back, but haven't heard from them yet.

    • I also had tracking issues with that one! Glad to know it's a widespread issue so that SB are more likely to honour the missing cashback claims.

  • -2

Can anyone conformt that we can use gift card balance to pay and still get cashback?

    • +2

Rad the last line: Cashback is valid when gift cards are used as a payment method.

  • I changed the payment type of my order after placing the order. Will it affect my cashback tracking?

  • +30

Beware - the promised cashback is not getting tracked for many users along with the standard cashback as promised (the purchase transaction did not even get attributed to campaign I opted in yesterday), but they keep posting more of these deals.
From yesterday's campaign the standard cashback is already redeemable, but the bonus isn't even tracked. Probably they urgently need some cash.
This is a really annoying thing with services like Shopback that you always have to check and chase every little transaction. Makes me dislike Shopback more and more.

    • +9

Shopback are the worst of the worst. Even the rep is useless. And their "customer service" (I use that term very lightly) are a total joke.

      • +3

I will remember to use topcashback going forward.

        • +11

They also change terms and don't honour the original ones. Eg. a few weeks ago they had a Myer 19% or so cashback, I bought two large lego sets, SB about 30 mins later modified the terms to be "click and collect orders only". Rep just said "sorry about that, just cancel and order again".

That meant I had to wait for delivery (Myer offers no simple way to cancel). then cart two large boxes to a Myer store for a refund. And if any items are marked "clearance", Myer won't return them.

          • +2

@DevGuy: That really sux that they did not fix thier own shit.

          • @DevGuy: interesting benefit of a business catering almost exclusively to the "poor" - nobody has the time, experience, or money to sue. just do whatever the (profanity) they want.

          • +1

@DevGuy: I screen record every single transaction from start to finish now, including the capture of all terms. That way they have no way to get out of it. They've tried numerous times to find a reason to decline so many of my claims in the past. But once I show them I have a screen recording that even has the time and date captured, they eventually realise that if they don't honour it, Fair Trading is getting involved (something I make sure to mention also).

It's absurd that we need to jump through hoops with weeks of back and forth emails to force their hand, all because they're a bunch of money-hungry grubs that feed on the laziness or forgetfulness of customers to not put in a claim, so they can double dip on commissions.

I was an early(ish) adopter with TCB and they're leagues ahead of SB despite starting up well after them. Plus they've got @tightarse and it goes without saying that he's a legend with a high focus on customer service within the OZB community.

            • +1

@KangaDrew: I had evidence enough - tracking time was prior to the terms change, screenshot of original terms prior to the terms change. The rep even acknowledged it, but said sorry not sorry.

              • @DevGuy: Throw some Fair Trading threats their way and see what they come back with. Although you could always message the rep first and see if she can sort if out for you.

      • +1

After the demise of CR, they are trying very hard to one up TCB.

If only they could improve their tracking…

        • It'll be interesting to see what they have on offer come BF/CM. I've got my hat in TCB's ring for the better promos though.

    • +1

Sounds like SB is headed in the way of Cash Rewards.

  • Not even sure what's worth buying. Needed an external HDD but Amazon hasn't come to the party this year?

    • I got this, Amazon US though

      • Yeah I'd rather not go below 24tb. I'm debating a 26tb Seagate from Newegg but would prefer wd

        • I feel you, 14tb was quite the compromise for me just to have a WD

    • Amazon hasn't come to the party this year

It's a Big Deals event. Not the Black Friday or Prime Day. Too early for Christmas I reckon.

  • Hi @gotyourback, just checking that the "Outdoors" category at 9%/9.5% should be "Sports & Outdoors"?

  • When I clicked on the banner for this promo via the PC website, this message popped up: "This offer is only available on the ShopBack app". However, this is also a button on the ShopBack Amazon store page which states: "Bonus rewards… Are you up for it?" and then showing the offer with a Shop Now button. Rather confusing is you ask me. Is the offer only valid when ordering via the app, or is it fine to order via the PC website? The T&C does not say one way or the other…

    • +1

Doesn't matter how you order, you just need to join/activate first.

The banner linking to the app page is out of date, being able to join challenges on the website store page is new.

  • +27

ShopBack has the worst tracking and support for these so called bonuses. Your regular transaction will track and it will not include bonuses.

You will contact support. They will tell you “oh yes it’s ok just wait 5 business days and if it hasn’t tracked then you can contact us again”. Never tracks and you always have to contact them again.

Then they will ask you for your transaction number, receipt, bank and card details. All while the transaction has already tracked just not at the bonus rate. They never answer my question asking why this happens ALL THE TIME.

Imagine the amount of money they pocket from people who don’t realise the “mistake” or give up on the process.

I hate ShopBack. Topcashback is much better but the interface is begging… makes me wonder if any of this is worth it.

    • +7

This, the reason why I stop using them. Topcashback is better

      • +15

But if shopback goes away like cashrewards topcashback will offer less.

    • +2

Thats why I always buy gift cards from shopback and then use topcashback for good cashback options. Agree the tracking for shopback is the worst. It has never tracked for me

      • +1

This is the fun bit. You get the gift cards with the 10% rebate deals then boost the rate using one of the promos.

    • They make nothing off the bonus. The bonus funding comes from a Westpac pool of money. It just means the $$ pool lasts longer.

    • +1

Had the same issue. Won't be falling for it this time.

    • Had the same issue last time on this one www.ozbargain.com.au/node/925815

Raised a support ticket and so far I've only got an email saying I didn't met the minimum spend criteria despite I had attached a screenshot of the order clearly showing the total amount exceeding the spend criteria. Followed up and it has since been three days, heard nothing.

Not gonna fall into the same trap again

  • +1

When you read "Home Improvement ( Includes Kitchen & Bath, Electrical, Smart Lights, Fans, Hardware )", does the "includes" part mean that only those subcategories are eligible, or are they specifically calling out that they are eligible along with anything else in that main category? I'm assuming the former, but would be nice to know.

  • The cashback didn't track properly last promotion, didn't get the $10 bonus.

  • If you partial payment with gift cards and the rest with a Westpac card does anyone know if the 2% bonus cashback applies on the total amount or just the part you paid with the Westpac card?

  • When going the app there is no mention of the $10 bonus?

  • Do you have to order $100 in one single order or can this be split into multiple orders? Sub and save doesnt let you order with other stuff.

    • +3

You can order other item with sub and save in one transaction. What I do is I add all the items in the cart as normal price . And during check out before placing order, there an option in each item to enable sub and save.

  • lots of people with issues
    has anyone successfully tracked this?

  • does the $100 have to be spent in one go today or can do multiple orders and it add up to >$100 ?

    • I would like to know this also.

@gotyourback can you confirm? The terms seem to indicate it doesn't need to be a single transaction

      • +2

Yep, you can make multiple purchases, and as long as your total spend adds up to $100 or more, you’ll still qualify for the $10 bonus Cashback ✅💚

  • Two items, no tracking ….

  • Yeah bought 6 hours ago, supposed to get 4% + 2% westpac + $10 bonus… no tracking.

I usually only buy via the PC, but this time I bought within the Shopback app.

    • +1

A bunch of us are still waiting for the bonus to track from 2 days ago. The $5 on a $50 spend…

Bonus tracking time keeps getting blown out, while SB hopes we will forget about it

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/927510

  • i see topshopback has "Second and subsequent Subscribe & Save orders are ineligible for cashback (only first Subscribe & Save orders in eligible categories are eligible)"

is this the same as SB's "Reoccurring Subscribe and Save Orders orders in the non-Cashback eligible categories"

so the first/initial order of a S&S is eligible and not for reoccurring/subsequent ?

    • You can always cancel and re-subscribe. Cashback relies on our clicks in order to track. When you re-subscribe, you also need to re-click. The system then track and calculate cashback based on the new click. That's how the current system works. They might make it work with subsequences later. But the all year round cashback rates are very low. Re-subscribing can keep us busy; Amazon is ok with it too.

      • yeah i do that all the time but what i was asking was..

whether ordering with S&S initially and then cancelling is still eligible for cashback based off the initial S&S order :)

        • I tried cancelling straight once before and still got delivered. I think the cashback is based on the delivery. So yes, unless you cancel that first delivery. Last time the system forced a 2nd delivery even I tried to cancel saying that the item had been prepared (not shipped yet). I didn't bother to contact the support.

  • I know Amazon takes a minimum of 1 day to track due to their affiliate network, everyone have chill.

    • +1

It is not just Amazon. I placed an order with BWS when there was a 50% cashback offer. Didnt get tracked either. Never had such issue with Topcashback.

    • Something similar happened like this in a past shopback earn more promo.
The reward ended up being issued the next day after the promo was over.
Still, I can understand why it makes people nervous. It irks me that the bar for the reward goal to $100 does not fill up or move to at least give some assurity that the system has registered your purchase.

  • +3

Hm kinda wary about participating in this one. The last one all the items tracked at $0 as they weren't in eligible categories but the $10 bonus didn't track even though 0% categories are confirmed as eligible to fulfil spend. Might sit out on this one.

  • Thanks, ordered with zip pay $15 discount.

  • If you cancel and reorder, will the new order track instead of the first cancelled one?

  • Well nothing has tracked yet for me, I don't see the point of the progress bar on that challenge

  • Nothing tracked for me. Literally following process that works 100% of the time otherwise. WTF are SB doing???

  • Placed an order for $319 - should be getting the $10 + $20 westpac + whatever miniscule cb amount for a shaver I am surprising my boyfriend with!

  • Still nothing tracked

  • Nothing tracked for me. I made sure I opted in and I clicked on the link via the offer to do the Amazon shopping.

This is the first time it's happened to me. Very disappointed.

  • Nothing tracked still.

  • The $10 bonus didn’t track for me either. Base cashback hasn’t tracked

  • did 7 transactions yesterday, nothing tracked so far and the event is gone from sb app. nice.

    • +1

Still showing in my Earn More section as "finalising results" and suggests that results will take 10 days. My actual purchase from yesterday just tracked this morning for me, pending bonus.

  • Mine still hasn't tracked either. I did it via the app to ensure it's the safest method.

  • Just had my Amazon cashback tracked bonus yet to appear though.

    • +1

Purchased 3 items in one order but only one of them tracked, my shopping cart was empty and added 1 item one by one so not sure what went wrong with the tracking. :(

  • Tracked, but multiple items in the same category not tracking again like the previous deal. Because of that, the required spend amount hasn't been met for me.

Queue the "wait a few days", "email support", etc.

    • Same here, 4 out of 5 items in different categories tracked, but the last one that in the same category is not tracked.

  • Base cashback tracked but the $10 challenge disappeared completely
