My good guys Samsung one was ordered, but is currently on back order. Will cancel that one for this one instead. Thanks OP!

  • How does this compare to the Samsung Fast Charge (2017)?

    • +3

I guess the Samsung is only 10W, this is 15W but not with the stand. So basically this is faster than the Samsung if I'm not wrong. I would go with this one for the speed.

      • +1

For me, i will be charging overnight and so the speed does not matter. I think if speed is an issue, wired charging is still much faster.

        • The Samsung one has a stand so I guess it's useful if you use it as your night clock.

        • Agree, I bought one of the Samsung wireless charger, I had to return it, it made may phone very hot and charging was stopping around 80%, I was so glad to return it and got a generic non fast Qi Wireless charger which is on my desk and I just rest my phone on it instead on my desk and charging has always been reliable smooth and cool, if I need fast charging, I just use wired charging. The one I have is rectangle to match the size of the phone, I can use it flat or as a stand, personally I don't like the circular shape of those fast chargers.

    • You have the flip up option on the Samsung. I can't decide between that extra feature or the faster charging.

        Jaeger,
Thank you. Have you tried that yourself? Does it really work?
Can I still use the port to connect to my PC for backup after I put this in?

        • I don't have the Belkin charger but I have two old Nokia wireless chargers and the Ikea one with desk lamp and they all work fine on my iPhone 5 & 6. I put mine inside a soft case then stuck the soft case onto another leather case and it still charges. You'll need to remove it from the port to connect to your PC, you can find other iPhone wireless charging cases with ports that you can just slide out:

      • Do u have any recommendations for something like this for the Samsung s5?

  • Do these work with flip leather type cases on?

    • Should be ok.
The best way is to bring your phone to the Good Guys for the test 1st before purchasing it.

Has anyone customised a table to include a Charging Pad? Keen on a DIY project.

Any recommendations if you have? How would this go?

  • I could get a wireless charging pad from Ebay for less than $20. What's so special about this one?

    • +3

Reputable brand. Plus it's on ozbargain

Bought a cheapie years ago. Slow charging. Not worth it over this one. Also much less likely to have the house burn down.

    • +3

I've got four Qi chargers. Three were >$20, one was <$20.
Have a guess which one stopped working? The <$20 one from ebay! It used to get a little warm too. I think as a rule if it runs on electricity you need at the very least a branded item…

Looks like it won't be Qi charger #5 for me, this one seems to be out of stock?

  • +1

Sold out it seems (both ebay and TGG website)

  • OZBARGAINED!!!

I have one of these. Be aware that it has a green LED light on the front right edge of the pad that blinks every second while charging. Nothing that a bit of black electrical tape can't fix. Other than that design fail, it's an excellent Qi charger.

Correction: mine is the previous model. This one has a more discreet 'always on' green light.

  • I wonder if there's a difference, technology/quality wise between these and the Ikea pads that are around 60 normally?

Picked up yesterday. Charged my S7 Edge with origional Samsung Flip cover on, worked fine fully charged with no problems. Great post and great product.
