KZ ZS5 without Microphone (Gray) US $18.99 Shipped (AU $24.05) @ GearBest

220

Newest product from kz. It has 2 dynamic drivers and 2 armature drivers on each side. The quality of this earphone is amazing for its price. These wires on the earphones are detachable, so it can be replaced easily if damaged. Kz also has a cable to make them wireless here. (couldn't find one at gearbest)
Probably the cheapest you can find right now.

Only KZ ZS5 without Microphone (gray) is on sale but I will link other types as well.

these sound really nice, better than xiaomi hybridpros for most music. comfort and cable are a concern though, I have huge ears (like EarPods fall out of my ears) and they fit perfectly. they look pretty high end also, my friend estimated that they cost around $150 then I told him they were $25 and he laughed..

and don't EQ them or they sound like crap

and they have a burn in time, they sound like crap at the beginning then they ease in and sound brilliant.

    • They look high end because they look like the campfire andromeda… In plastic!
Besides, the sound produced by the 2nd armature isn't correctly directed to the nozzle but for that price, it's not really a problem.

They are big, you may need to buy foam tips so the earphones will remain in your ears.

      Reviews: audiobudget, aproear.

      • Yeah, the next one will have 7 drivers a side and have the design """borrowed""" from Shure..

Just kidding, hope they fix that issue with the ZS7 or something, which after experiencing the ZS5s I'll probably buy.

And yes, my next purchase is foam tips, had some for my Xiaomis and it's a big difference in both comfort, outside noise suppression, and sound leakage.

        • are foam tips universal or model specifics ?

have you found any good deal on foam tips for these ?

          thanks.

        • It's easy to find fake shure/sennheiser earphones in China that's why some people got scammed on ebay…

KZ is working on a 5drivers earphone =D (total 10 drivers) named "ZSR pro".

      • Do you have a link to discussion about the 2nd BA not being directed to the nozzle?

I found a YouTube video posted to SBAF ("KZ ZS5 Review - Exposed"), but that's all I could find in a quick look around.

I've been a big fan of KZ since discovering the KZ ATE.

Holy moly!!! 4 drivers on each side. My Audiofly AF160's have 4 armature drivers on each side and they have an rrp of $650!!! I'm going to order some to see what they're like by comparison.

    • Well, the trinity master 4 also had 2 dynamic drivers and 2 balanced armatures but the sound wasn't correctly directed to the nozzle so for a$150+ iem, the reviews weren't good.

  • Got a pair this week. I really like them! Great value for money!

    • how much did you get yours for? and from where?

is this a good price ?

      • Same website, I think I paid close to $30 but that included quicker shipping.

  • They are huge though aren't they? Are they comfortable?

  • KZ ZS5 My Thoughts | KZ ZST RANT | News and Upcoming Review.
According to the review/thoughts, you better don't talk, laugh or yawn while having these headphones on because they pop out if you do and you need to push them back in.

    There is a 8 Driver ZS5 I found!

    The review seems really promising

No, according to that review "you better don't talk, laugh or yawn while have the ZST in". The first thing he said was he doesn't actually have the ZS5. How can he make conclusions on a product he doesn't own?

      • that's his thoughts and saying what issues he might have. Actually the pop out issue is common to most of my headphones including my Jaybird Freedom, X2, etc.

The "8 Driver ZS5" that you linked is the same thing as OP with 4 drivers on each side

      • oh, really?? lol, the review seems good then

      • Yep, KZ likes calling them "8 Drivers", which is a bit misleading.

  • I have the ZS 3 the sound is good but need some time to put it on the first time

  • While checking out the reviews for these I stumbled upon a vid reviewing the "VE Monks" that are better than Bose IEMs (which I used to have) for $5 USD.

If you're a headphone hoarder like I am, the link to those are here:

    • The VE Monks are stunning for the price. The foam covers are a bit scratchy for me, but they sound really good with them off.

    • Are these fakes? Looking at the buyer screenshots, the packaging are atrocious.

      • The VE Monks? Nar they're not fake. You're saving money on packaging i guess - these are $5USD remember.

Just bought a pair last night for $50 FFS.

    • -1

How so? It says 19% off and now the price is $24.05. has to be over 50% off if you paid $50.

      FFS.

      • They retailed for around that price on AE for a few months. It was/is a relatively new model.

        • It's more expensive on aliexpress because since the pre-order sales, there have been a permanent US$10 off discount if you give them the name of a famous audio forum or the name of a famous reviewer =D

The real RRP is near AU$30.

Also have these, got them at around $45. Great sound for the price (don't be misled by the 'number of drivers' marketing gimmick).

Sturdiness seem decent enough, although they feel really cheap in the hands due to the plastic type and thickness used. Especially if you're expecting Campfire 'feels'.

Also, if you need isolation, these are not recommended. They have rather generous vents for the 2 dynamics, and they pick up wind like an alcoholic picks up booze. Even slight breezes will amplify into a 'whoooooosh'. Not really that problematic if you have music playing, but still an annoying oversight compared to other earphones.

Conclusion: Can definitely recommend for this price, conditionally.

  • Damn, I recently bought these for $26 from the same seller. Just be advised that it can take a LOOOOONG time for them to reach you. I placed my order on the 18th of July and have yet to receive them!!
