Compliant with the latest Eastern European Safety Standards

      • Last time I checked, we ain't livin' in Europe…

        • That's because we aren't compliant.

        • Most of the standards in Australia for trampolines are voluntary.

On the other hand, the European standards would be mandatory in Europe, and this company is selling a standard trampoline model which is sold around the world by the same manufacturer under different names, so would be compliant to mandatory standards in places where it needs to be.

Adds a bit of confidence I guess if it is at least adhering to some mandatory standards somewhere, and has undertaken some types of rigorous testing.

  • Bigger, better and possibly cheaper at K-mart:

    http://www.kmart.com.au/product/14ft-trampoline-and-steelfle…

This design has steel hoop at top, keeps net away from poles and springs, and avoids ugly sagging.

    (same $285 with metro delivery)

  • OP, can you please reactivate this deal or better yet make this deal better?

    12-Foot too big…

  • Hi all. Sorry for slow response and thanks for all your messages.

This trampoline is compliant with European Safety Standards Norms EN71-14 and 2009/48/CE, CE/ITS France.

As for Australian Safety Standards, as Mattk87 mentioned (Thanks Matt) and as of some of you may know, it is a voluntary stnadard (so not mandatory). It is recommended though that trampolines include adequate safety features, such as padding, safety nets and warning labels alerting users of the potential dangers that trampolines can pose if not used properly. Our trampolines are matching with those criteria.

Our trampolines have been tested and passed AS 4989-2015: Trampolines for domestic use—Safety Aspects Excluding Clause 2.2.4 UV degradation which is a 5000h test.

In particular, all structural parts and resistance tests have been completed. Again, as some of you may know, the AS4989:2015 is a voluntary Australian safety standard, so not mandatory but we thought it was necessary to test the main aspects of the trampoline to comply with Australia requirements. Again, only the UV test hasn't been completed yet as it is a 5000 hour test. So we expect to have those fully tested in ~5000 hours.

    Hope this is now clearer.
    Best regards

    • Hi,
I believe my big-chain trampoline met all those listed criteria, including the warning signs like "one person only" that all the kids ignore.

      The problems were:

      • Nets, spring covers and padding not UV-proof, and failing in a couple of years. Trampoline still works well after these removed.

      • hot-dip galvanised plating corrodes due to rain trapped under the padding. (Lasts well where not padded) Stops when disintergrating padding is removed.

      • once the spring-covers are gone stitching eventually fails in the mat, (>5000 hrs) though the mat material itself is fully UV resistant.

Have your suppliers addressed any of these? Would be nice if net and pads lasted more than a couple of summers.

Hi Manic. Thanks again for your interest in our trampolines. It's great to see such a good bouncing about our trampolines.

Agree with you Manic, it should be one person only for safety reasons, which is why we mention on our user guide. See extract below: "Your trampoline is designed for family use outdoors and not professional or medical use. This trampoline is intended only for one person at a time, weighing less than 150kg. The user must have bare feet or be wearing socks. The protective padding must be in place during use."

As for the product life we believe that as our trampolines are sturdy as it's not their first season. We have sold plenty of them across Europe in particular in Spain where as you may know temperature goes very high!

With their hot-dip galvanised steel frame, Alice’s Garden’s trampolines are robust and have demonstrated a good weather resistance over the last seasons. In addition, our trampolines are delivered with a protective cover (no extra cost for this as included in selling price!) to protect the jump mat from UV, dust, leaves and plant decomposition.

Hope it answers your questions Manic.

    Best,
    ALICE'S GARDEN CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM
