Electricity & Gas Renewal (NSW) - Any Deals or Better Companies to Deal with or Currently Going on?!

Currently, with origin - they've sent through a quote for a fixed rate but thought I would ask the question to see if there's anything going on at the moment.

Happy to make the switch if it's a better deal.

Any hacks or discount's I should be aware of?!

thank's everyone.

  • AGL is aids

I just renewed my plan with AGL yesterday. I have received $100 one off credit, 16% discount on gas usage and 24% discount on electricity usage.

    • but i think AGL's base rate is higher than some other players.

Yes for sure, I was on AGL with 25% discount for electricity but then i moved to Poweshop and they are much cheaper even with only 18% discount

        • their pricing looks good - i will have a look and compare with Dodo with whom i am !

        • Can you enter monthly meter reading with Powershop?

        • @Tipu:yes you can. Everything is done using App in powershop, basically you have to buy your usage via their App to get discounted rate. Takes me 5 mins of work every month to get about 18 to 20% off. By my calculations taking into account latrst price rise powershop is still costing me less than i was paying with AGL abouut 2 years ago.
Edit -also powershop give $75 referral bonus. Check out the wiki page if you decide to go with them

        • @CheapSticks: Remember $75 Powershop credit through referral as well.

        • @lokesh7: Is there any way to automate this? I've forgotten to do it a couple of times and paid the inflated rates. If not, I'll probably switch as I'd prefer to pay slightly more if I don't have to do anything.

        • @fredblogs: no way to automate it that I am aware although you can pay in advance so you are fibe to log in once in while. I am actually paid upto end of oct at the moment.

    • They told me they only have $100 credit with a 14% gas and 22% electricity offer, online only application. However if you sign up over the phone you get no one off credit, but 16% and 24% discount instead.
