"notable mention is the Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (1 litre bottle) which is $105"

I think this should be the top deal. Nothing against the Glenfiddich or the price, but Glenfarclas 105 at this price is fantastic and such a good drink!

    • Thanks, will update

That's why my wallet has been empty for the past months

1 litre, cask strength (60% vol alc) yes, I concur it is a great price.
I've seen it cheaper in Australia, yet not by much!

Personal recommendation, allow it to air for 5-10 and add a single teaspoon of water.
Brings out the flavour far more and mellows out the alcohol burn.
    Of course, ymmv :)

    • Roger that

    • cheers

      Or add Coke-a-Cola.

      • No,no this would ruin this delightful scotch. I would only ever use diet coke on something this good.

      • How about Cloaca-Cola?

  • Good old Nicks,

  • is there a way to search specials on Nicks? May as well push it to $200 for free shipping but would rather get another special to get it there. Dont want to have to sift through thousands of bottles to find the deals.

    • Get another Glenfarclas 105 then it's sorted :)

    • Nicks has a specials section, but I often find what I want at good prices is better found by searching my preferred alcohol type.

      • I must be blind i cant find the specials section anywhere…

Look no further, save me a taster as a finders fee.

    • Subscribe to their emails, there is a separate one for Spirits https://www.nicks.com.au/newsletter-spirits-subscribe

And the What's New and What's Hot lists are worth a browse.

They have good sorting and searching option on any section of their offerings, sort by rating, price etc.

  • $105 has been the price for months from Nicks.

  • I previously mentioned that the Laphroaig 10 at $90 for 1L was a better deal from Nicks than the ebay "special" from Good Drop ($72 for 700mL with PROOF code - now expired). That has to be one of the picks at the moment.

    Other bargains are definitely:
Dalmore Cigar Malt $150 for 1L

Laphroaig Quarter Cask 700ml for $85 - it's $5 more than Good Drop's price of $80 today only, but Nick's is easier to get to the free shipping threshold. Lagavulin drinkers should enjoy the Quarter Cask.

And I recommend the Glenfarclas 105 to everyone. It's my usual dram - 1L for $105 and it thanks you for diluting it. Around 25% water and it's still got plenty of flavour and it's still 45%/vol. Might sound like sacrilege, but it works (for this whisky). Of course, some nights you'll prefer it a little neater, but its versatility makes it a necessity in the cabinet.

  • They state that they can't deliver to PO Box addresses. I assume this means AusPost Parcel Lockers are out too? Seems to be pretty variable which couriers do and don't through which methods :/

  • The last bottle of 105 I picked up (1L from Nicks) was very unremarkable - and kind of disappointing. Not sure if just a crap batch or because it is now NAS. Am a Glenfarclas fan and love the sherry bombs.
