Why isn't the Marriage Equality forum topic on the Front Page under Hot Discussion Topics?

At the time of writing, this topic:

Why Won't You Be Voting for Marriage Equality?

Has 133 replies since 10/08/2017 - 17:42.

 

And this topic:

Police broke our fence while chasing someone. Insurance won't cover.

Has 94 replies since 09/08/2017 - 21:46.

 

And yet the latter is on the front page under Hot Discussion Topics while the former is not.

Why is that so?

Mod: Dating and Relationships & Off-Topic are only viewable to members only and not guests thus why it isn't on the frontpage. They aren't accessible if not logged in.

  I'm more surprised that self harm brinkmanship is a consideration in the matter. Sets a dangerous precedent I think.

  Because the less coverage this rot gets the better. Let people do what they want but don't (profanity) devote time, energy and attention to something so trivial that it pales in significance compared to so many real issues.
