  • S7 in a Lifeproof FRE case, will it work or no?

    • +3

Not guaranteed. I found it's tricky and you need to really make sure your case can fit 'right' on the angle. That being said, I have one of these and found it wasn't too hard to align even when half asleep. Sure beats looking for the cable. Be mindful of the fan noise though.

      • Wont hear it over the PC fans… will probably live on the same desk. It charges off the PCs USB ports now.

      • +1

Fan noise? This has a fan???

        • +3

Yeah… The fast one has a fan, the regular one does not. The fast one is worth it, it does charge pretty quickly.

        • +2

Yes for fast charging adapters, if you do not use a faster charger adapter it'll not engage the fan.

        • +1

          @Daniel15:
Thanks… Have never even heard any noise from my one (I use the fast charge adaptor that came with my S7). Had a look and the holes behind the grill area are very small so can't even see a fan lol

    • Some wireless manuals state 5mm tolerance - I also found that some of the cheaper wireless chargers (the small ones that you either stick inside the case or in the case of iphone, stick on the back of the phone and then into the charging socket) dont work as well.

  • +2

Good price. Picked one up at my local (last one) and turned out to be faulty. Took it back and swapped for the white flat version which works fine on a S7 Edge with Caseology case on. Before this I purchased a so called "genuine" one from an Ebay seller. Died 2 weeks in. Looked it up and the tell tale fake signs were there. Sent a message to the Ebay seller requesting a refund (and expecting a fight) but got a full refund an hour later. Well whatdya know…

    • +5

That's a common trick by fake sellers. If let's say 10-20% customers complain and ask for full refund they would still earn huge profit.

I bet they "cancel" your transaction, rather than return and refund, so you can't leave a feedback.

      • Yep! Same with fake memory cards, etc
Theu just keep selling ebay is more interested in their fees then keeping fakes out.

Oh well I've got to keep lots of fake merchandise for nix. Especially toys.

        • +1

Also got stung by a fake EBay one. Wouldn't charge through my Spigen Tough case and was noisy when charging. Returned it got a refund and got one from the Good Guys. Genuine and Happy Days.

      • I bet they "cancel" your transaction, rather than return and refund, so you can't leave a feedback.

Feedback can still be left for cancelled transactions, they cancel them to receive an eBay fee credit.

        • Nope, at least not always. I had a trans cancelled after the seller was a prick, and my feedback was removed. Maybe it depends how they go about it.

        • @Tuba:

          Nope, at least not always.

Yes always, once an item is purchased you cannot stop someone leaving feedback.

I had a trans cancelled after the seller was a prick, and my feedback was removed.

Because the seller complained and an eBay rep manually removed it, usually when the feedback is inflammatory or unfair.

Doesn't happen often and is at eBay's discretion.

        • @Scab: Youre wrong. My feedback contained nothing inflammatory and was deleted. When asked about it, the reason given was transaction was cancelled, even though I had to wear the postage costs. Its worse, the item was represented as genuine, was in fact cheap unbranded generic Chinese copy.

        • @Tuba:

My feedback contained nothing inflammatory and was deleted.

I said usually, and you need to go back and read my original reply and the context.

Cancelling a transaction doesn't prevent feedback as was suggested, sellers cancel them to receive a fee credit.

And the only way feedback can be removed is manually by an eBay rep, which is what happened in your case (nor do you need to cancel to ask eBay to remove feedback).

the item was represented as genuine

          It wasn't a tooba?

  • Thanks, wanted one for a while now…..

  • If it's only $30 well worth that concierge thing if you haven't signed up for one before. They send you 3 $20 vouchers every year, I've got a wireless Logitech keyboard ND mouse, USB sticks money off a tablet for my mother a free power bank and universal case for my mum so far :)

    • +1

      Interested but do not understand

      • +1

Egg extended warranty is called concierge, on small items it's usually $30 for 3 years warranty, but they also give you 3 $20 credits each year (uptown a max of 9 credits if you own 3 warrants.)

        • That sounds like a really cool deal, thanks for telling us about it. TGG Concierge :>

Does anyone know if this works with the s8+ ?

    • +1

I use mine with the S8

      • I don't think it charged at fastest speed possible does it? I read somewhere that it should but Samsung have it locked out to get you to buy the new version.

        • +1

It does work with the s8+:
          https://youtu.be/VX8vwhu7kk4?t=3m15s

Charging speed for this model seemed to be pretty much the same as the 2017 model. 19% after 30mins vs 21% after 30mins

        • Didn't actually bother to time it but it's definitely faster than a generic Qi charging pad when paired with the S8 original charger.

        • @MaxD: cheers, bought one.

  • +2

    I paid $75, good device

Beware you need your own PSU for it

    • Good point, they don't really emphasise that in the details.

    • Que? It doenst come ready to go out the box?

      • Supongo que no amigo

        • Looks like it uses the phones charger thingamejig doovawhacky hoosamajoosit

        • @Tuba: Bazinga

    • +1

Glad someone mention it. I purchased it about 8 months ago and thought it came with a PSU. Works with S7 and S8 both using Spigen cases.

    • +1

      PSU?

      • +1

        PSU = power supply

In other words, a USB wall charger

        • PSU - Power Supply Unit

        • Ah haha makes sense, excuse my uselessness i just moved from iphone after 8 years haha

        • @jno: Welcome home

      • Go with a Cooler Master brand ; )

  • this isn't the fold-able one right?

    • Nope, these are the older "S7" generation ones. They work great though (so this price is fine for a genuine one!).

      • thanks mate, prefer a fold-able one so I'll miss :)

  • Anyone had any luck charging there note4 with this device… Cheers

    • +1

Did you get something for your Note4 to support wireless charging? I dont think the Note4 has wireless charging itself.

      • Hi mate, nah I havn't, just thought it may support wireless charging.. Thanks for the reply…

        • Samsung make a wireless charging S View cover which is sometimes packaged with a charging base. The Note 4 isn't "fast charge" compatible though…

    • You need the Qi charger case if you want wireless charging, if you do this charger will charge your phone.

      • Thanks mate, I think I'll just wait for the next note to come out lol, thank you

  • Why doesn't my LG G6 have wireless charging ;(

    • +1

The G6 plus does. Time for an upgrade.

      • +2

Only had the G6 for a month!

        • Yeah, no wireless charging is why I've held off so far. Don't see the G6+ being sub 500 soon though.

  • Any difference between this and the "Samsung Wireless Qi Charger Charging Pad"?

    • That one is a regular wireless charger, this one is a fast charger. Samsung say that the fast one is around 1.4x the speed of a regular wireless charger. I've found it to be even faster than that.

      • Cheers

  • Does this unit have a light that always stays on?

    • Yes

    • +2

yeah that light is reaaaally effing annoying.

      • Guess I'm not putting it next to my bedside then

  • same as this?

    • +4

Yes, except this one is not so likely to be fake.

  • Not bad.

  • I picked a few of these at a local store in Melbourne Central for $39 ea, they had 3-4 left as of Friday.

Be mindful with the fast charger adapter it'll engage the fan that is quite noisy during the night, but if you use a non faster charger adapter it'll not engage the fan.

    • Disable fast charging on your phone through the settings.

      • Wouldn't want to disable it universally, as it's useful during all other times.

    • -1

i've used mine over a year and haven't heard the fan come on once, do you live in far north qld?

      • You must not connect it to a faster charger enable adapter then, or do not have the fast charger version of this charger. As it's a known issue for this device.

        • -1

nah, I believe I can still read the "fast" before "charging" on the lock screen and a full charge takes less than 90min. Tested with both Samsung and Sony QC2.0 charger and same thing.

    • +1

I connect my to a non fast charge wall adapter. the fan is annoying AF.

    • @Rumbaar Can you let me know which shop in Melbourne Central? Thanks!

      • fonfix is the name of the store, Shop LG66. Good luck.

        • Thanks!

  • "Fast" wireless charge is still slower than standard charger (non-quickcharge)

  • I have one but don't use it. Faster to charge using cable (Fast charging).

  • +1

Thought this was a "discman" when I saw the picture :(

    • +2

      Sounds cool. What's that?

      • My gammy just told me, it's something they used to play music on in the 90's. Or something weird like that.

        • Prob really old .. Maybe an ssd bluetoothed to a speaker!

  • Some advertisements in eBay use the words "wireless fast charge" so look for the correct Samsung model EP-NG930

  • Received my wireless BlitzWolf charger from a previous deal for $20 only a couple of days ago. I like the convenience of dropping my phone on the desk without trying to find cables in the dark.
If I didn't get one last week, I would definitely get this one.

  • +1

For those who can wait. The same charger is usd32 at amazon plus shipping. But that one come with a USA psu normally cost you $20 extra. I bought mine in May, and it fast charging my s8+. I never hear the sound of the fan.

  • Can you pls share the link when it's available Couger? Thanx.

  • Thanks! Gold one looks nice…hmm…

  • Will this work with the s7 edge and its otterboxndefender case?

  • Thanks, just picked one up today.

  • Cheers OP, was holding out for a good price. Grabbed 1 :)

  • why on earth this thing need a fan, does it really get that hot

  • price matched one at jb hifi today $45 (incl travel adapter) ticketed price was $119

    • I'll be doing the same today. I just realised I have a JB Hifi voucher about to expire in my wallet, so I'll be attempting to take back my Good Guys purchase & price match at JB.

How did you go about getting the travel adaptor included?

    • How did you get the travel adapter?

  • Link now broken…which has made it very tough for JB to price match.

    • +1

Hey there! It's still available on their eBay Page if you want to try that. Otherwise you can use C5OZ to get it even cheaper.

    • Still showing up in search

      https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/SearchDisplay?categoryId=&sto…

But yeah main page and original link is broken. Maybe just flash them the search page?

    • Yeah, tried that. Thanks for your help guys.

If the links broken they won't price match it. Nor will they from their eBay site.
