If you're buying this as an investment opportunity, it could be a bit whiskey.

I think you'll find it's whisky. Whiskey is Irish or American.

You'd have to get Dan's to beat that, just on principle :)

i agree - there is something special about going into a big chain and tearing 1/3 off their price

      • just happens to not be on the shelf at dans… dam

Thanks, that is an AMAZING deal. I picked up two and got 5% off being a team member so brought it down to $91….

    TASTING NOTES
"The folks at Diageo chose correctly the type of wine to finish a peated, oily whisky. Honey and smoke are first to catch your attention with the focus turning to malt and summer ripe peaches. The peat smoke is a constant. The richness of the whisky isn't cloying and as you finish the sip, you will notice a dry, spice filled conclusion."

Has anyone had this scotch and can compare it to the Highland Park 21 year old? I bought 2 bottles back at that deal nearly 3 years ago, and although since then have been through many bottles of Johnny Walker Green, The Ardmore Legacy, Aberlour double cask, and even got into Ardbeg for a while and went through 8 or so bottles, the Highland Park was my favourite, with such a rich, smooth, spiced taste.

    • I'm wondering if I should give the Coal Ila a go at this price or splurge and go for Ardbeg Kelpie, https://www.google.com.au/amp/www.insider.co.uk/news/ardbeg-…

worth noting that the version that won is actually called Ardbeg Kelbie Committee Exclusive and is different to the Ardbeg Kelpie that you can buy at Dan's. Not to say the latter isn't very good (it is, very unique though, I'm so glad to see the Scots innovating again), but it's not quite the same as the award winner and might not be to everyone's taste.

Wow. That brings me back. I got the Highland 21 as a result of that deal and I haven't had many drams that I rate as highly since. Certainly not for that price.

  • great deal

  • Phenomenal deal. No stock in the ACT though…

  • No stock at Bentleigh (median house price $1,440,500), but stock at Sunbury ($452,500), Caroline Springs ($580,000) and Melton ($354,500) ? I'd be having a word to whoever does their distribution!

I don't mean to come across as elitist, but I'm tipping there won't be too many sold in Melton.

  • A few bottles still available in QLD Jindalee store

  • I just received a free delivery code in an email from them. I've updated the deal to reflect that.

    • Tried to purchase one bottle, went all the way to PayPal payment page, clicked 'pay now' and normally get redirected to the sellers payment completed page, but instead got put back at the cart, and it said "product not available for delivery".

Has anyone managed to order a bottle for delivery?

      • I did before I posted the update

    • Strange, just bought 2 with free delivery ( no code required). Maybe they don't like use of code.

      • I'm guessing you guys are in NSW or WA?
