Looks to be version 1 of the Bridge, so not HomeKit compatible.

Still great entry into the system, it's a slippery slope!

    • Sure is a slippery slope.
I started with one lifx bulb.
I now have over 25 and look forward to new bulbs blowing up as I can put lifx bulbs in as replacements.

      • Do you happen to have any of the BR30's?

        • No all of mine are the colour 1000 and the original lifx.

          No BR30 sorry.

    • Does this mean it won't work with Google Home etc.?

      • It'll work with Google Home but not Apple's HomeKit.

      • It probably should work - the newer hub is different in that it includes extra encryption and/or software for Apple's homekit.

I previously had this hub and I could program it up to do stuff - that means that Google would be able to to.

  • I need some BR30's!

    Amazing price.

Tempted to buy this just for the sake of it - even though i dont need it.

Might buy it and install it in the bathroom toilets at work. Set it on a timer to turn on and off every min

    • Set it on a timer to turn on and off every min

      Bathroom rave?

  • Very low price if only for the bulbs. Note that these are lower lumens that the current bulbs so if you only want them for lamps (bedside, lounge etc) they should be fine. Don't expect them to light up a large area though.

  • I don't see how you're meant to tell the difference between the generations?

    • Shape of bulb, amount of colours and lumen output.

    • In terms of the Hue bridge, V1 is round while V2 is square.

  • So these are just for lamps? Where can I buy smart downlights from?

    • It depends on the type of downlights that you are after..

  • These are gen 1

What does this do? I'm not familiar with it.
How is this better than just buying one of those yawee bulb things?

  • How do you get it down to $143.15?

    • 20% off $199 is $160

      • +1

Apparently the store bumped up the price recently
