none of the options I mentioned have the "Belkin connected equipment warranty" though, so if you feel you might get 'lucky' and get hit by lightning one day, you should probably buy the Belkin.

I got this one last time and wish I hadn't as it is massive, too big for the spot I wanted, so be aware it is pretty cumbersome.

  Just note that the USB ports are shared, so will charge slower if you're using them both at the same time.

I invested in what I thought was a mid-range powerboard (4 plus 2xUSB), made by Crest and sold at Big W. Less than 6 months and three powerpoints died (one revived) and a button is broken. Meanwhile Australian made powerboards made in the 80s are still going strong. Thanks for the recommendations.
