    Useless instructions on turning off auto recharge: "If you want to turn your auto recharge off, that's possible in your OVO Dashboard - just choose the service that you'd like to manage." That's it - no explanation of what to actually click.

    Here's how:

    1. To turn off auto recharge, login, click your name, and select MY OVO DASHBOARD.
    2. Click CHECK IT OUT.
    3. Click WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO DO.
    4. Click MANAGE MY SERVICE.
    5. Deselect AUTO RECHARGE & click UPDATE.

    Received yesterday as well, and "activated" it over 24 hours ago… still waiting. Guess I'm one of the unlucky ones (not even porting).

    • I activated just before typing my message above. Received the activation email in less than 30 seconds. Might be time to get on their livechat.

      Same here. Got charged twice on 16th but then got reversal on 18th. Got charged on 18th again :-(

  • Does anyone know how the porting process goes? I've activated the sim, and it's finished the porting, but it's saying it has no credit.

    • I was wondering about this as the sim sent out has no mention of any credit.

      According to the CEO I've got 60 Days to activate, but not sure if that is from the start of the promo, or from ordering?

      • Its alright! Credit just takes time to be applied. Confirmed by customer service. Arrived about 4 hours after porting did.

  • Since I started using ovo thanks to the original deal posted here last year when they started the 50$ plan, have to leave my positive experience with them.
    It's slightly more than a year I'm with ovo, great customer service, love their dashboard, and great service. Can't recommend them enough. I use the 50giga data as my main internet and very happy.
    Easy to change plan if you need too,easy to set manual top up.

  • Activated the Mrs service yesterday evening and 24 hours later got an SMS from Optus.

    Service still not active!!!

    • Are you porting? I was, and it was pretty slow to get activated. I completed Ovo's online activation form on Monday at 10 AM, and it still hadn't ported 24 hours later at Tuesday 10 AM, so I phoned them, and they said it was something with their internal system holding up the port, and they would escalate and investigate, and then the port happened Tuesday at 4:15 PM. So around 30 hours + 1 phone call required to get the port to happen, which is quite slow. But since then, all good, and the customer service rep was polite and helpful. I'd definitely phone them given it's not active within 24 hours.

  • 1 months after purchase - Still have 4 pending $1 "preauthorisation charges" on Commbank. Paid by a different CC after so many errors.

    Promise was refund in 24 hours!
    Bank says I can't do anything about it & must wait for OVO!

    Sent OVO an email at start of this deal, nothing happened, so have tried again…

    • OVO requested screenshot of bank statement a few minutes ago. A lot of hassle to fix their issue.

      Changed from Kogan $1 SIM to OVO $1 SIM 7:30 last night - actvated in minutes (not porting).

    I'm wondering how they enforce the 60 day activation rule. I know a rep has said it but, is it actually enforced? I wonder.

    Kinda like the Optus Starter Kit "activate within 30 days" thing too.

      You mean Optus doesn't enforce the 30d activation rule? But many ppl report the sim bought at supermarket can't be activated after 30days.

        I don't know for sure - haven't tested it myself personally.

        In fact it's mainly because I recall reading comments suggesting the opposite - i.e. you can still activate it after 30 days.

      • Latest Optus SIM deal does not mention 30 day activation rule, unlike earlier offers. Optus deal stated activate by late 1/18. So that 30 day rule may have been dumped by Optus.

        OVO CEO stated in this deal 60 days.

    Anyone had their service automatically recharged after disabling AR? Disabled it over a week ago and just got a recharge notification :(.

    OVO seems to bit dodgy in their auto recharge. Got billed for $34.45 though had turned off the recharge option. Same happened to another of my friend and he was furious too. He too had the auotrecharge option off.Talked on Live chat but the CSR was not helpful. just cut and paste with the term and conditions. Going to ombudsman or will do a chargeback

    • Wow. I haven't got a recharge bill yet but just about half way to my 30 days. My AR button is off, so they will still charge you regardless?

      Should I change to a coles prepaid mastercard for this?

    • I just had the same thing happen to me overnight. Disabled autorecharge as soon as I activated. Contacted OVO via chat first thing this morning and was told that I hadn't disabled it and due to T&C's they wouldn't be cancelling and refunding…. I requested a callback from a manager and haven't heard anything all day. Called them instead only to be told the manager isn't in today but will call me back tomorrow.

      Hopefully they sort it out tomorrow but being called a liar wasn't a good start!

        • Probably but I'm hoping OVO @MattCEOatOVO do the right thing and it doesn't come to that.

  • Today is the last day to activate the sim, folks.

    • According to rep's wording, it's 60 days.. but doesn't specify as to 60 days from what. If you go by 60 days from payment, then it depends on when you ordered it.

      For what it's worth, I just activated a SIM 5 mins ago.. and I think I ordered it on 14 Sep, so well within the 60 days.
