Does Anyone Know No Gap Chiropractors? Please Leave a List of Addresses or Websites?

I am looking for chiros that do not charge a gap to the customer after the health fund pays them. I plan to attend monthly.

Would really appreciate if you can leave some details please! I am in Hurstville Sydney. Willing to drive!

There is only one no gap chiro on google advertised, that is 50 min drive from my house which is too far. I already googled it prior to asking on ozbargain.

        So not willing to drive?

You want a no-gap chiropractor, a premium service rarely available on medicare only, but you think you can be choosy? Try Homer and his crumpled trashcan? I hear you only need to visit him once.

Wouldn't it depend on the health fund and what plan you are on as to whether or not your fund/plan covers the chiroprators rate?

  • +3

Do they cover made up treatments?

Shouldn't you be looking for 'no crap chiropractors'? Lol, as if they exist.

    Chiropractic is quackery.

See a GP or physiotherapist if you are experiencing pain.

  • Noone is going to have any real answers for you, it depends on your fund, if you have any 'gap cover' protection etc as part of that fund and what limits the funds allow you to have etc

    I plan to attend monthly.

You may run into your funds limit. What does your policy say around the claim limit for Chiropractors?

    • claimm limit is $400 a year

      • And with that, this entire thread has just become useless as you're planning to go weekly, with a $400 yearly limit, you'll only be able to claim $7.70/wk across the year.

Or about 7 weeks if you claim $60/wk or 5 weeks if you claim $80/wk.

Once you hit the limit, the health fund will no longer provide ANYTHING. So you'll be footing the entire bill.

I didnt say i plan to go weekly. I wrote above monthly visits. Health fund pays $35 per visit so if its no gap i will get 11 months at no gap.

    • +1

oh monthly, thought you said weekly. Still the same thing applies

      $400/12 = $33.33

You're not going to get a Chiropractor for that price or even the $35 per visit your heath fund will pay per visit.

+1 you arent going to get a Chiropractor for that price, they are more like $60 a visit. If you have a chronic condition that requires monthly visits (which is how often I go) I have personally found that it is far more effective to also incorporate other treatments into your routine. For example my condition didn't respond to physio but I have found weekly Pilates (mat or reformer) classes have helped me strengthen my core and maintain my back condition. If run by a physio you may be able to claim through your health insurance (but not always). Also remedial massage is a good complimentary treatment. Like others have said if they promise to do anything apart from help your spine run a mile. I have also spent a lot of money on crap Chiro's, there are plenty which is why some people think they don't work, but good ones can make a massive improvement. Word of mouth is the best and they wont necessarily be the cheapest.

    • Chiro will ask you to go weekly for 12 months then monthly for the rest of your life. Only for your actual problem to not be fixed as they just "put your back in place"…..have you seen the spine? Any shift will make you paralysed somewhere.

      Quack quack I'm a duck

Look on their website for a range of conditions they treat. If they claim they can fix allergies or digestive issues or anything else just by cracking your back, then they're a quack.

If you can find a chiro who only does backs, that's about as good as a physiotherapist. Or you could save time and go straight to a physio.

      If they mention "subluxations", run!

    physiotherapist*

    • physiotherapist

Psychologist. People thinking chiropractic is anything but quackery need their heads examined as well.

  • Try MedFirst Medical Centre in Hurstville next to the KFC, bulk billing and hardly any waiting times - not sure if they have a chiro but they do have a great exercise physiologist - might help
