What are people carrying around in their backpacks? lunch, textbooks and a umbrella incase it rains?

Everyone who's saying the thieves will just take the whole bag, the idea here, is to provide a deterrent in very crowded environments. These environments may include crowded trains in places like New York, China and India. Thieves and pick-pockets from there are so sly, they usually open bags, steal expensive gadgets/wallets/jewellery from inside and close them without the owner realising. A large number of people even resort to wearing the bags in the front, to avoid such miscreants.

These bags (I don't own them) are designed to prevent such smart thieves by making opening it difficult without alerting the wearer.

Zipper will make noise so thieves just use a sharp razor blade.

Get a backpack with a fine metal mesh protecting the contents.

    • You've got to pick a pocket or two boy

    • I'm currently in Europe, and I've been using my Osprey backpack and apart from being very vigilant I've also been locking it with a Tsa approved lock (and sometimes wearing it in front of me). I'm wondering is the lock a good deterrent or would they just cut the back open?

      • The TSA would definitely cut it open .

That would leave one's buttocks exposed, attracting a different type of miscreant.

  • The bag from Culture Kings has the USB port on the inside of the lower flap.
It is not visible from the outside as this one is.
That gives me the impression this one is not genuine.

  • What if they stole the whole bag?

  • anyone actually own one of these? i did a quick search in amazon, and the review regarding internal stitching is bad for some people.

  • How does a bag charge a USB device? Does it have a built in power bank?

    • +1

You have to connect your own powerbank inside, the bag has an extension cable to the outside so that you can charge your device like in the picture.
