OnePlus 5 goes on Sale in Australia Next Week (64GB $599, 128GB $699)

So looks like Oneplus isn't jacking up the prices.

This could be a very good buy. Does anyone know anything about how they will handle warranty?

  • That is surprisingly… affordable. considering my Galaxy S7 was bought from Vaya and cost me $540 three months ago, 599 is a pretty good price for a new flagship.

  • 64gb more is just cost them $30….

    • Agreed. Absolute piracy. Shame on them for wanting to make a profit on their phones

      • If apple can do it, why not others

    Going by the oneplus forum for this release and this article, these phones won't come with Australian power adapter, but a UK one.

    It will be interesting to see how OnePlus markets its Australian 'presence'.
    I would imagine at some point that will mean selling the phones from an existing retail outlet [let's imagine it's JB Hi Fi]. But until they do, isn't it just buying a phone online — and whether you do that with the local arm of a company or one in China, HK or California, what is the difference?
    Here is what OnePlus founder Carl Pei said when OnePlus announced its Aussie presence;
    "I know that many of you have purchased our products via friends or family traveling abroad, or through parallel imports. This can’t compare to the user experience when dealing directly with OnePlus."
    Apart from establishing a price in AUD that will, presemably, not vary according to the daily exchange rate, what difference will there be in the 'user experience', other than buying a phone from what positions itself as an Aussie seller, but which come without an AUS plug?
    Not to be unkind, but what kind of PR crap is that?
    I have bought two OnePlus phones, both from OS, both came with US plugs. Both have been excellent handsets.
    But, on the basis of what we have seen so far, what is going to be different?

  • Interesting, I'm still using the first generation oneplus one on custom ROM running 7.1 and it silk handles fine
