I don't know if it's me or the Oregon Scientific line up of weather stations has become pretty poor (and out of stock).

I've been using a couple of wired Davis stations that were extremely pricey back in the day (approx. 5-6 years ago) and were really very limited from a connectivity perspective. I even tried to get one of them to talk to a PC via a very expensive proprietary Davis USB cable to no avail. I put up with them as I knew they were the semi-professional industry standard but over the last year or two they've basically just fallen apart and have developed too many issues to bother with anymore. Pretty poor form I thought especially for stations costing several hundred bucks each!
Anyway, I decided to replace them so had a look around a few months ago and found these Pantech cheapies (as above). I couldn't believe what they offered for such a low price (ie. nice clear & colourful screens, touch sensitive buttons, solar/wireless sensors and Wifi connectivity) so decided to get one to give it a go. Turns out the outdoor sensor assembly is identical to those found in other kits costing $500 so that was a great start. Southern Hemisphere Calibration and initial setup took about 5-10 minutes then Wifi & Wunderground connection & account creation took another 10 minutes. Within 20-25 minutes the whole thing was up and running and I could even see it reporting to Wunderground! Unbelievable. I was so chuffed I bought another one to replace my other wired Davis unit at another property plus I've also helped friends buy them and set them up too.
Of course only time will tell if they continue to operate but if you calculate lifespan vs cost then I only really need these to last about 12-18 months to be on par with the crappy Davis stations these replaced and I'm pretty sure I'll get that out of them as an absolute minimum so all good :)
For that price, I expect it to let me control the weather.
I got my supposed $99 Oregon weather station from Dick Smith for $20, when they were selling stuff below cost (Those were the days - I scored loads of headphones, a tablet-pc, travel adapters, weather station, Eneloops….). Was just checking out for additional sensors, and they are out of stock (they were marked as $39, which is crazy). They are pricing themselves out of the market. The app which comes with my weather station is useless.
I have 3 Oregon scientific air sanitisers approaching its 3 year lifespan for ncco filters. It's quite unfortunate that I cannot purchase the nano filters as it's always out of stock and no eta when I contact them

Sorry, we do not have a cheaper option at the moment.
However, you could purchase more items with flat shipping fee.
Shipping costs seem a little prohibitive, eg $25 to a capital city for a $52 item.
