  • Is there such a thing as ski lift pass timesharing?

    • Never heard of it

  • Ok Sept/Oct. Can we see snow there at that time? Is it melting?

Depends on the season. But, this year, only in the last couple of weeks have we received much snow. Australian snow season seems to be getting later and later. I had a brilliant couple of days spring skiing at Hotham last year. It's only one week away from this pass being valid, and looks like a few cm of snow over the next week, plus the few cm from the last week.

With regular day passes being like $110 or something, you only need to ski 5 days for it to be well and truly worth it. Head down next week for example and ski for a week and you have your money's worth already, and then see what happens with the weather and know you can head up if there's any more nice conditions later in the season, basically for free. Great deal.

From what I heard from my mate who's a ski instructor at Hotham, especially early to mid September it's still perfect, less people and nicer weather. A quick YouTube search found me this video to give you an idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLlq49H1tYE&t=309s

EDIT: btw this guy is the darude sandstorm guy no joke

      Hotham has a "snow guarantee":
If, due to lack of snow, there are less than 3 lifts (inclusive of at least 1 lift that services an intermediate trail) operating at Hotham 2 days prior to the check-in date of your snow holiday, you may choose to receive a credit or full refund on all pre-paid accommodation and lift company products.

And finally, the snow making facilities were finally fully finished this year!

Falls Creek holds its snow quite well. This season we are experiencing a traditional weather pattern so there will be no mass heat / melt event. There should be snow on the hills for quite some time, just the tracked out areas might show some exposure but we still can get a few follow up falls to top up the cover.
