  • What about tax?

    • I was informed by the seller that they have a Trade Free permit that allows them to import this item into Australia without custom tax.

I bought another DJI Spark from them for my brother and it was $1080, and there was no issue with import tax or GST being added on top. The address I got it from was an AU address, not HK, but it is NOT Aus stock, but as for the tax, as always, YMMV…

Also to make note, my box had been opened and all the box seals and plastic wrap was tampered with. Everything in the box was brand new and still had the wrapping on them. Batteries were genuine and never charged. Serial number of the quad matched what was on the box. I don't know if it was an check if everything is in there, or to get around GST/import duties, they open the box and send them in as spare parts…

      • Same, it does not come in original packaging. They say it was activated because of country registration requirement.
If you would want to get the care refresh, you'd need to do the video verification and submit to DJI for review.

        • Sure about that? I thought the video verification was to drones purchased from local authorised dji resellers that have been activated more the 48hrs. I had to do this with my drone recently and and to enter in my serial number after they approved my video.

  • "The item you've selected wasn't added to your cart.
This seller won't sell to buyers who don't meet their requirements."

    • That's come up for me when trying to buy a $1 screen protector before…lol.

    • I can't seem to replicate your issue. Perhaps there is an issue with your address? The coupon also only works with Paypal Payments.

I'll wait patiently until it is below 1k again…. ha

  • My experience of AU stock v HK stock with a DJI Spark - price differential in late July was around AUD$120, bought one. And the box was fully sealed… One of the batteries "bricked" during an update. DJI is sending us a return freight voucher, it will be replaced under warranty. Happy to buy chinadroids (just bought a Redmi 4A $120 for one of my kids) and roll the dice on no effective warranty, however in this case (n=1) already in front $$ wise. And of course if it was for business use or I could access TRS, around ~$90 GST available.

My understanding is that the serial numbers of the drones are linked to country of origin - these would therefore not be considered Australian by DJI and not covered by their warranty. The dealer could choose to repair your item, or send it to China for warranty claims but that is not the same as having a local warranty. I believe you can still register for the DJI care refresh locally though.

  • Just to add my two cents. I bought one from these guys last week. Have been having all sorts of issues trying to register DJI Care Refresh. Based on the DJI website, DJI Care Refresh can be bought for your region regardless of where the drone was purchased.

When I went to go register my DJI Care Refresh, it didn't work saying that the Drone has been activated for more than 48 hours. I've had this thing for like 3 hours.

I'm not sure if these drones have been "test" or are "refurbished"? I will update if I find out more. Contacting both the seller and DJI at the moment.

    • I am also curious as I bought from them and had a problem to buy DJI care refresh as it has been activated for more 48 hour.

So to update, I called DJI and they worked something out for me. I had already purchased DJI Refresh from an Australian retailer and I explained to them I had yet to turn on my drone so there's on way its been activated for 48 hours.

The lady on the other end worked it out somehow and now my DJI Care Refresh is activated.

It's look like all the drone will be activated before send it to Australia, in this case I am unable to buy DJI care refresh prior 48H time frame.

    Hello

Due to country registration being needed there were few devices that had to be activated, same as some iPhone & Samsung phones, the reason behind this activation is due to country of purchase registration being needed in order to sell overseas legally. It was safely and securely activated by the original DJI distributor.
To obtain your DJI care refresh after the 48 follow these instructions,
    http://store.dji.com/product/dji-care-refresh-mavic-pro?site…
once on the website find this paragraph and select the highlighted “here” option
“Want to purchase DJI Care Refresh, but your product has been activated over 48 hours? Click here to learn how.”
