Well we all know the reputation of this shop, don't we?

    • +2

      I don't. Should I be worried?

I bought a drone from their eBay store on 10Aug and arrived last week and all good.

        • Everyone remember the Xiaomi powerbank debacle?

        • @YellowKnight:

Did they give you refund when you didn't receive the powerbank? A lot of seller didn't sell powerbank to Australia anymore.

        • @YellowKnight:
I just initiated a paypal dispute for my powerbank…

  • Good Price. However, this seems Chinese edition.

    • You can tell from the suction cup mount. The international one that I have uses 3M adhesive mount.

  • It is slightly cheaper on their eBay store http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xiaomi-Xiaoyi-Smart-Vehicle-Trave… though I suppose Tom Top might have some coupon codes somewhere

use PINCH5 to final price AU $47.12

thanks, bought 2 for $91.88 (been driving two delivery vans without dashcams silly me..)

on Ebay it is a different version, it only does 1080p30fps, has only 130 degree viewing angle.

      • shit… though the ebay description says "F1.8 large aperture, 165°ultra wide angle lens" but then underneath in the photos are for the 130 degree model.

Hope brucebruce bought the correct version …. :p

  • Yellownight how true mate these guys are nothing but a scam ripoff site, the (profanity) don't reply to your email, they send you codes that don't exist stay away..

  • Anyone have a any link to a english enable menu unit?

      https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/video-guide-flashing-i…

I think it is pretty foolproof, I do no think you can brick it.

I paid full price about a year ago. Did the menu language thing.

      • Can you confirm he did this to a China model and not the international model?

      • Got my two units, used that site to flash them both to English menu support, thanks

        • Sorry missed the comments from a long time ago.

          Great it worked.

I have not used mine much, only thing I do not like is that this dash cam is that is is not really stealth.
It looks like a traditional digital camera mounted.

        • @fredk1000: I have one mounted at the front watching where i am going to f up, lol and a 2nd camera mounted at the rear, I notice people are less likely to tail gate me since i installed the rear camera.

          @spriggan43:

          Great idea.

I used mine at home as well pointing out the house front window, to see if I can see what dumping stuff on the nature strip one time.
Or which dog was pooping on the lawn.

    • The official link says only US (International?) model is supported (https://www.yitechnology.com/firmware/index/class/dash)

      • fredk1000

Said he did it a year ago, I am thinking that unit must of been a China model?

        • If you check the link there have been several versions since then. My version/model is CA21L and I have updated to 1.03.

        • @k0ka2: I am sure the dashcam team are keen to give English menus, even if i must wait, the pictures in the menus are a big help if it's locked to mandarin, set date and time, setup recording quality and wait for the crashes :O

I had someone bump into me today, and the rear dash camera (g1w-cb) didn't record shit. I think it was a problem with the power cord becoming loose, so i am going to get two of these and hardware them up. Only saving grace was the person that crashed into me where two very nice Germans on holidays in AUS and a witness stopped to give there details. If it was Mr. Logan bogan or people from the switch the outcome would be different :)

  • Do these contain a battery or just rely on power input? Never mind I found it, they do.
Would it be much of a concern given the heat from our hotter weather?

    • By power input I hope you mean capacitors? There are 2 types of dash cams power sources and they are batteries, capacitors (which hold charge for a bit longer after power shuts off, to let SD cards save), or maybe both. Batteries have potential to explode, but capacitors likely wont. Your call on the effect of the weather but just remember that a car with closed windows on hot days can get > 70 degrees.

  • Try to avoid seller with less than 99% rating.
