      That's the old one

      • What's different about the new one?

        • MUUUCH smaller (1/3 or something size) so that it wont block other USB ports.

@ATangk: People actually used it directly in a USB port instead of just using the cable it came with? 😕

  • How? they don't release till "Available 1/31/2018"

Apart from being "60% smaller", is there any functional difference?

supports connection over bluetooth. Hopefully it's more stable than the first one as well, because I've had nothing but trouble with mine ever since I got it with the Oculus.

Xbox One S controllers are Bluetooth, so you could buy a cheap Chinese $4 dongle from eBay and use that.

You can also pair Xbox One S controllers to a Smartphone or tablet and it'll be detected automatically.

Do they work with 8 controllers at once?

I know for certain Bluetooth dongles have interference.

      • I've tried it with 2 controllers + Logitech Mouse with no issues. I don't know about latency since i didn't test it, but AFAIK using Bluetooth to a PC disables the use of the Chatpad and Chat adapter and the 3.5mm audio jack on the controller.

So you'll be able to game still, but not use a headset on the joypad.

Note there are also bluetooth + Wifi PCIE adapters on the market, such as this one which uses the Intel AC 8260 wifi module, which is commonly found in laptops. It might give you a better experience over using a generic dongle.

^this was my second more expensive dongle i did pick a no name $4 one off ebay and decided to spend a little more hoping to fix the interference issue.

I bought this and still experienced interference.
I read these proper adaptors work better than bluetooth.

I already have an Asus AC56 wifi card (i use Ethernet atm though.)

I have one of those. The same generic one everyone sells. But it's old and doesn't come with W10 drivers. I can't find drivers anywhere.

How is this even a bargain?

Seems to be RRP. I'm glad you brought it to my attention because I'm still hunting down the bigger model, but I'll wait for a discount.
