  • I'll have me some of that muscat!

    • note that only ALDI seems to sell 375ml - everywhere else has 500ml :(

still cheaper than paying $40/L @ DM though

yes shrinkflation is one of those things with fortified wines and as they shrunk from 750ml to 500ml with no price drop but effectively a 33% price hike when calculating $ per litre, so 2x375 ml might be better value than 1x500ml from dan murphy …..

seems heinz baked beans have also shrunk from 425gms to 300 gms with no price drop …… looks like $1 425gm heinz beans deals will exist no more ..now they will be 300gms .

        • If you want an aged Muscat this is cheaper still, and even better quality https://www.seppeltsfield.com.au/index.php/shop/cellar-home/…

Definitely worth getting a (decent) oak barrel and aging fortifieds yourself. Have given two to my dad over the past 7-8 years and it's amazing to see the quality of muscat in the barrel go up and up over time. So long as you keep them topped up, the barrels will be good for decades

        • @carwashhair:

89 points from JH. He's not impressed!

        • @tightwad: And I can understand why - Riverina just doesn't have the same pedigree on Muscat & fortified compared to Rutherglen. He's right about the alcohol running hot on the De Bortoli, and somehow it's not as viscous as a rutherglen of the same age…

  • Anyone tried the Glen Grant and can provide reviews? Is it in the same league as a Glenmorangie 10, etc?

  • Budvar $12.95 at Dans

    • +1

      Probably price matched with Aldi

And im going to buy my Budvar from Aldi. Tired of Dans and their garbage pricing. No need for Budvar to be $20+ on any other day.

        • ^this so much!!! Went crazy with last week's Mahou offering of $9.99 six packs, since the couple of stores in Sydney that sell it want $23-$25 a six pack >| And while Budvar is a better beer, grab a Mahou sixer if you see it - not a bad food beer plus it's at a proper spanish strength of 5.5% (none of that diluted 4.6% Estrella crap we get here) so you get a great std drinks/$ ratio :)

  • J.P Wiser reviews pls.
