  • Thanks! I did the survey and hit 'Done' without copying down the codes..

    • Same here

    Aren't the codes single use?

    • Codes can only be used once per person.

      • -1

        So the same codes are being issued for completing the survey?

        • +4

          yes - completed it twice :)

          @tonester:

          so I don't need to complete the survey then?

        • +1

          @jv:

          you don't need to but they would like you to :)

        • +3

          @tonester:

          I'll complete it if they return our local kiosk that they removed a few weeks ago.

        • @jv:

          where was that? not at woolworths?

          unfortunately still less videoezy kiosks for less convenience and movie variety :(

        • @tonester:

          where was that? not at woolworths?

          Yep, the one in Kew in now gone… :(

        • @jv:

          didn't realise :(

          there's still richmond/hawthorn/camberwell - https://kiosk.hoyts.com.au/find-a-kiosk?location=3101

        • @tonester:

          yep, but for Richmond, you have to pay for parking.

        • @jv:

          true, hate that about victoria gardens now - just buy an apple from coles

          same i think with aldi abbotsford

          don't know of any other shopping centres without free parking - or at least ones i've visited

        • @jv:
          There's one in Broadway Shopping Centre

        • @citygal:

          There's one in Broadway

          New York?

        • @jv:
          Sydney

        • +3

          @citygal:

          Sydney

          The 10 hour drive kills the deal…

        • +3

          @jv: You can mention in the survey that you are giving them low score because the local kiosk was removed

        • +1

          @AG1304x:

          I already did that, but I doubt they care.

        • already posted

        • @jv:
          I'd say they would weigh it up as to if it will add value to them else why do a survey at all?

    • I've got multiple email addresses and multiple credit/debit cards and can tell you as long as you don't use the same one each time you can keep using the code.
      e.g.
      card 1 with email 1 twice
      card 2 with email 2 twice
      And so on

      (And repeat with partner's cards and email addresses).

  • good deal

  • Did the survey yesterday, thought they were unique codes so do didn't share them with ozbargain

  • I hear people been using prepaid Visa cards and not returning thseee DVDs/bluejays, don't they get caught?

    • +1

      There's a video camera in each kiosk, so go for it if you're willing to take the risk.

      • +2

        Or if you are just a prick

        • And if you are a thief.
          Getting a good deal, even using a deal multiple times is one thing, but stealing is not getting a good deal,it just plain morally corrupt in every way.
          I could tell yoy straight away how to get around the camera easily, but Im not a thief, and would never encourage theft.

    • You'd probably need to visit N. America to steal a Blue Jay, but again probably not worth getting caught for..

  • Completed the survey, got the same two codes

    • +1

      not hire, but rent
      not use, but watch;p

    • Yes

  • Thanks OP:)

  • +1

    can this code be used for blurays?

    • Yes, took $3.99 off a blu-ray costing $3.99 that I rented at lunchtime.

      • awesome thanks mate. although I've just checked my local one it's only got a handful of BDs…. :(

  • Thanks OP!

  • If they are the same codes, does that mean that I can use both codes for each card that I have?
    i.e. 10 cards = 20 free rentals?

    • it used to work like this….not sure if you can still do it….

    • +2

      Yep sure can. It only checks the card being used against the code. It knows if the card has already been scanned against that code. Nothing to do with email addresses or phone numbers

      • +1

        Will give it a try. Thanks buddy

        • I just got two movies today using 1 card but both codes. Each needs to be a single transaction

    • Yes, works for me.

  • Thought/hoped each code might be for renting 2 discs or a dollar value like some VideoEzy kiosk promo codes where you can get more from kiosks where rentals are cheaper (like $2 instead of $4) on Tuesday however it seems to be for one disc but at least they have blu-rays now since I stopped using Hoyts over 18 months ago because my local kiosks started stocking only DVDs.

  • So it's one free night, after that it's $3.99 per night right if I don't return it?, ive never used Hoyt's kiosk before

  • Do you have to return DVDs to the same kiosk

    • +2

      no :)

      • Thats good to know. My closest local ones never seem to have anything decent , or what the 1 good bluray do have is always out.
        Will try a kiosk a little out of town, then return bluray to closest 1.

  • Amex accepted?

  • Does a digital membership card work at a kiosk? - stoopid question probably :/
    (I'm just joining Hoyts Rewards now - so no physical card :( )

    • Disregard my comment (above) - I've found my answer.

  • WoW there is one now in qv melb cbd if only i had a tv and dvd player lol

  • awesome
