Sunnies for toddlers - how to buy

G'day, am after knowing how ozbs plan and buy sunnies for their toddlers.
Since my toddler keeps pulling apart his sunnies I need to be able to come up with something that is cost effective (read cheap), will protect his eyes and will keep him off snatching my sunnies. Till date I have only purchased $10 sunnies from discount chemist.
I did purchase a $3 sunnies from ebay which never arrived and I do not trust the seller wrt the quality of the lens - last thing I want to do is damage the little ones vision.
Any suggestions please ?

Cheers,

duct tape them to his face? ;)

  • Would also like to know, my daughter won't wear them for more than 30 seconds at a time usually. Same for hats, gloves, bows in her hair.

Shoes and socks don't stay on much longer. :(

I think it just depends on the kid?

A tranquilliser-gun from the zoo, and lots of duct tape!

    • no hat, your not going outside same as a helmet and scooter.

You're not going to damage his eyes with cheap glasses. Just buy the cheapest, perhaps buy 5 at a time.

On the contrary, wearing sunglasses with no UV protection can be harmful to your eyes. Your pupil opens up and will actually allow more harmful rays to enter compared to wearing no sunglasses at all.

      • If they meet Australian standards (and all sunnies sold in Austalia must do so) then they have appropriate UV protection.

  • try the cancer council ones
u can get bands to pack around the head

took a while for my little one to get use to it and wanna wear it

  • I bought Ugly Fish junior sunnies the other day, it fits from 1 year old onward. Their junior range is bulletproof and cost about $30 at one of the Melbourne DFO. I think you can buy them online, but maybe more expensive.

If your toddler keeps taking it off, then you gotta show some parenting skills :)

    • yes. get this brand. If the toddler still misbehaves, aim your gunshot at his or her eyes. Till he/she learns to show some bloody respect :) :)

Shucks guys kids do not need sunnies…..think back did you ever wear them? Cheap crappy qty ones are worst for your eyes than not wearing them. We survived a whole heap of years without them.
