dude, its confusing reading the title of this bargain, probably better to add " plus bonus 3 bottles " i had to read this a few times as i was thinking 50% extra free wtf? lol

  • im gonna give you a + for supporting local beer, but im going to refuse the bargain, just bought some stella :)

  • Nice! I certainly like a good cider, it's a nice way to mix things up a bit :)
Only ever tried some of the bigger named brands, so definitely keen to see what the local guys have come up with.

im new to ciders, do they have alcahol in them? or is it like the apple cider you get from woolies?

    • I don't know a whole lot about them either, but I know that these ones are certainly alcoholic! Quite potent too, 8% or something ;)

But yeah there's also the non-alcoholic, which is just more like a soft drink afaik

    • Hey,

All the ciders we currently sell are alcoholic and range from 4.5%-8%. They are all produced from locally by independent Australian breweries and wineries.

The sample pack contains a range of styles and is guaranteed to impress!

    • I reckon they have become fashionable so the big brewers don't have to pay the alcopops tax on the sugary crap they normally peddle.

  • What size bottles are they? I can't find it anywhere on the site!

    • Hey,

      They are all 330ml bottles.

      Cheers

      Callum

    • probably 330 ml each

    How much is vic shipping?

    • Hey,

Shipping anywhere in VIC is $10 and should arrive in about 2 days.

      Callum

  • I'm curious, how do you verify age? All I can see without registering is a "Are you 18 years or older" checkbox - What's to prevent a minor using a prepaid credit card or a debit visa/mastercard?

    • Hi Johnny,

That's a very fair point to raise and there are a few methods employed by The Beer Boys to prevent this occurrence.

The main way this is prevented is when the order is to be delivered. Packages are delivered via a specialty Wine Delivery service from Australia Post and no packages are allowed to be left unattended or left with a minor.

      Cheers

      • Good stuff, great to see you guys being responsible :)

  • so its $40 for 9 bottles ???

    • Seems that way…. I'll stick with my $44 slab of Mercury Dry (24 x 375ml x 5.2%) for now.
But it's encouraging to see cider getting a wider hearing amongst the Aust drinking masses.
For years I've been feeling like an alcoholic leper and un-Australian just because I prefer cider to beer.
More often than not I'd have to drink beer anyway because SO MANY restaraunts and night clubs didn't have any cider in house, not even ONE. Have to say though that it's changing finally and the better pubs even have it on TAP :-D

      • Yeh, unfortunately all the boutique breweries have to charge a fortune to actually make any money… They get taxed more than regular brewers for some retarded reason.

As usual - it sucks to be the little guy. :P

          Hey,

The ciders and beers we sell are all handcrafted, produced in small batches for quality and are guaranteed to impress!

The products come from independently owned and operated Aussie microbreweries and wineries. The products are very different from your mass-produced commercial offerings and must be tasted to fully understand how unique some of these products really are.

Also its not very common to find these handcrafted products in your major liquor chains due to the fact that when you a producing a product for quality rather than quantity and getting taxed excessive rates(on-top of normal business tax's), its almost impossible to compete with large companies(some foreign owned with profits leaving the country). The reason they don't give up is because they are passionate about their products - when you have that much dedication it says something about the quality you are getting when you buy from them.

Thanks for your support guys :)

          Cheers

  • has anyone tried these? I'm not a fan of the usual ciders available in Australia but I'll crawl over broken glass for Swedish or Finnish cider.

    • Hey,

      Whats your favorite international cider?

      Callum

  • Only one in the range I tried was Kelly Brothers, it's fairly OK. The shipping is a bit of a killer, was going to grab a couple of cases of these but $10 shipping each case for VIC. Wouldn't mind doing a pick-up instead if that option is available.

  • Lol one of the ciders is named Dicken's Cider….old Drew Carey SNL sketch
…nothing I like more than having a Dickens Cider

I love Cider! Will give this a go thanks matey.

Edit: OUCH! $15 for delivery? No thank you.

  • +1

    Too expensive for a "+"

    • How does that work? Just because it has a premium price compared to the big names?
That's like saying a non-homebrand product is "too expensive" despite the fact it is going to be of a higher quality.

If you can find the same product as this for a better price, then you might be able to justify what you said…but I just don't see how that's a fair judgement.

  • @beerboys any plans do have another promotion on the beer sample packs? Cheers

      Hey,

You never know what we have planned :)
