    In the meantime go to the Chinese Embassy in London http://www.chinese-embassy.org.uk/eng/visa/

    You'll have to pay for priority service and hope it can be done in the UK.

      I would've thought its got nothing to do with the Chinese Embassy in Australia? Any Chinese Embassy in the world should be able to issue a visa?

        I think it would depend… The price for Australia is different to the US for example.

  I've been to China without a Visa before…. I was issued a day visa, for just one day upon entry…. It had a 12 hr stop over in the day.

    Not sure if every airport has this service? Shantou is a small city.

    If you have all required documents with you in UK, you can apply there and get the visa in 1-2 days if you pay priority.
