New Computer

So im looking to buy a new computer i got from 500-1000 to spend on it. I'm looking for a high performance gaming computer with at least 1GB graphics, 4 GB ram and also a good processor and CPU. I have been looking on eBay and on online computer stores i found a couple on eBay for around the price but id like to know what else out there, there is. so if you know of any cheap ones or better yet one on special please leave a comment.

  • I assume you mean desktop computer, it's better to custom build it if you can.

    Ask on whirlpool!
There'll be flocks of people tending to your every (computer-related) need!
Each with their own opinion and reasons. :D

    lol :D thx

  • well whats a good website to buy from i tried a couple and it looked easier just to pay a bit more and get it allready built

    • Depending on your location, how about msy.com.au?
But if I were you, I'd just buy each part for a bargain price then build it myself.

I can't tell you how satisfying it is.
Not only do you save money but you learn a lot too.

  • yeah i have heard that place it really cheap thought i can cant get to any of the stores there to far away

    • What state are you in?

  • nsw

  • Well you could always do what most people do and buy it from PCCG(http://pccasegear.com/).

Even though some items are slightly overpriced, they do combine shipping.
Just make sure you're choosing the best ones of the lot and not the seriously overpriced stuff.

  • k thx

    • PC Case Gear is Melbourne based. If you live anywhere near Sydney and want fast shipping or pickup, you can try:

MSY (different branches in Ultimo or Auburn)
      IT Estate North Rocks
      9289 Chatswood
Fluidtek (Carlingford) (Has a limited range of stuff, but sometimes every weekend there is a good deal)

Check the Whirlpool Desktops Suggestions wiki page for ideas on different priced builds:
      http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/rmp_sg_whirlpoolpcs_gaming_conf…

  • Just research the parts you need/want first & then spend a bit of time on… http://staticice.com.au
…then weigh the pro's & con's of buying all at one place that can combine shipping but possibly higher prices for certain individual items, vs. just getting the bits from each of the cheapest retailers with individual postage!

There'd be no need for complex maths or mad formulae in a spreadsheet to do this for you either! ;)
