Think this is best value Telstra plan for unlimited calls, text and international. Will be perfect when I am between uni and the farm. thank you OP

Telstra wholesale, not Telstra. It uses less of the Telstra towers. Depending where that farm is, its often no better than Voda or Optus.

Boost is the only one I know of that uses the full Telstra network, but does not offer 4GX, just 4G.

Still fast though, got good speed boosts going from Optus 4g to Aldi

      • +1

Thank you for the message, that's an excellent point. Though have been with Woolworths mobile and it was good.

      • How's aldi compared to boost? Aldi use whole telstra network?

        • Aldi use Telstra Wholesale too.

      • I had been a direct Telstra customer since 1981 and on mobile since 1992! Analog worked better than any digital crap. Now since Hell$tra could not even get my Band 28 properly going and texts between 2 direct Telstra took 6 hours we are now 2 happy Optus customers.

Missus on Optus direct and I am on Coles. Now Woolies gives one extra 2 days for 2 bucks less with a bit of data sacrifice but bonus international credit.

Seems like one of the best deals. I guess it will be sort of Aldi castrated or Kogan like. Anybody got experience?

Wait they are telstra now? I've been on woolies mobile for a while and it's on the optus network

      • Maybe you are on an old system? I get coverage were there is no Optus/Vodafone in my area.

You night want to check your coverage or what network type matches up.

      • They were on Telstra when I used them last year.

      • Boost have been on Telstra for at least 4 years.
The older 5GB 45days plans were on Optus, and became a regular Optus plan, only 3G.

        • I think I was one of the few that stuck with the 5GB 45days plan (it was a good deal….) and a couple of months back they upgraded it to 4G (and now its a great deal!)

        • @Jetsom: yeah it was great but i could never get 4g, i even got an official optus sim and stayed on the same deal but only 3g, but now i switched over to this new woolies telstra network and finally recieve 4g for the first time ever in my life… woopwoop

  • Does this include the free 10 international countries (US, China, India, Singapore, etc.)? At the moment the Amaysim $25/28 days giving you 2GB is the cheapest if that selected international is needed. And so much sweeter if you got this deal.

    • $20 international and other non-standard national calls

    • they use Optus I believe

  • From what I read this includes calls to other Woolworths mobile numbers. But not calls to non Woolworths mobiles ??

Happy for anyone to correct me.

    Well, except Broden.

    • +4

      Unlimited standard national calls.

Thanks. This is the prepaid plan I'm in now. At this rate, I'll be able to buy a house someday…

    Does Woolworths unused data rollover?

    • +1

unfortunately doesn't look like it would…

Any unused Included Data will be forfeited at the end of your credit expiry period or if you recharge early.

      and

Data Rollover automatically applies when you activate your $30 or $45 Woolworths Pre-paid recharge between 11 January and 28 February 2018.

I just realised though, does Standard National include mobiles?

      • +1

Yeah, standard national calls generally include standard landline, mobile, 1300 and 1800 numbers.

        • awesome!! just wanted to double check

        • Actually I hope it's true what I said. The $30 and $45 plans say unlimited standard calls which definitely include mobiles. So I assume it's the same?

    • +1

Not for this one, only $30 & $45 recharges do

      • Maybe the Aldi $25 would be better for Data users…unlimited, 3GB + rollover.

        • Telstra network?

        • @idonotknowwhy:
Yep and auto recharge, set and forget

        • I think if you use the Woolworths Mobile app you can set up auto recharge.

  • Nice post, I still like more data of 2gb with $20 Coles Mobile. Don't mind 2 days less at all.

    • That's not the telstra network though

  • This is very good, but Woolworths Mobile doesn't offer global roaming, so if receiving calls/smses overseas is important, Aldi is probably the closest alternative pricewise.

I think it's okay for a prepaid plan but it's not that great. Amaysim has unlimited calls/text/2GB data for $15 the first 6 months. Vaya also has unlimited calls/text/2GB data for $19. I guess you could argue that they are 28 days instead of 30 days, so the effective cost is 7% greater, and also it's on Telstra network instead of Optus network. Personally, they make no difference.

If you go one step further and do monthly portings, you could easily reduce your monthly cost to less than $10. That's why I still think $18/month is only okay.

  • Can you keep you existing mobile number with this offer?

Sorry, a bit of googling indicates you can keep your number. I haven't changed providers for ages.

    • +1

Yes, to port your existing number to Woolworths Mobile, simply select the relevant option during the sim card activation process.

  • Recommendations for prepaid mobiles for this plan? I'm assuming Telstra phones don't work.

    • +1

they should! I even use a Telstra on Coles and it works.

  • These 30 days contracts are great when used in an unlocked phone as they give the flexibility of making the most of the current offers at any one time.

  • +1

Can you recharge online using a woolies gift card? I have one which can be used with woolies online.

    • +1

Don't think you can. Credit/Debit card or recharge voucher.

      • +1

Thanks, i could probably use my gift card at woolworths to buy a recharge there. If i buy a recharge at woolworths how long is it valid for (ie if i bought it today then can i actually recharge it in 3 weeks time? =
