very happy with my Tip. Good construction, plenty of floody light, don't have the problem with the tube, with it turning on in my pocket.

    • +7

So you recommend just the tip?
      ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

      How was the tube?

    • I had the problem with my 2016 Tip always turning on in my pocket, but only while i was at work. Very bright light, I miss having it on my keychain!
I will buy this 2017 Tip model for that price and see if it's better designed.

The Tube turned on a lot less than the Tip did.
I'm always kneeling at work so I must hit the button with my keys or something.
If your just walking around I guess none of them would turn on in your pocket.

      • +1

the only change in the 2017 is that they put an anoying removable cover. they didnt redesign shit…

      • If you have the updated 2016 version, there's a lock out feature by holding both button simultaneously until the LED flashes, which will prevent accidental pressing in pockets.

  • Thanks

  • Already have one which has been going great for almost a year now… time for a spare!

Also as usual with these deals, the codes are only valid for 1 item per order
(could always just make multiple accounts as they don't seem to care)

Bought black TIP, had a good experience with TUBE so why not!

TIP will be $18.54 with 28 degrees and by using USD.

  • Is this the original TIP or the v2 that prevents parasitic drain?

    • This is the 2017 version of the TIP, so the model after the V2 (which solves the parasitic drain).

You can tell as only the 2017, also provides the Clip.

  • The wife Christmas gift is coming

    • Poor ego2spare,it was semi-funny. I heard way more worse things at work though.

      • +1

Lol what he say? Kinda shits me that ozbargain is g rated.

        • -1

He said what others already said in here. I think it is fair to have G rating on here.

  • Ordered me a TIP. I've got a few of the tubes, really are a great light. People get jealous of them, so gifting is normally the way. All my tubes are the second version, as thedude two posts up mentioned, I hope this is the second version.

  • One nitecore tip. Coming right up.

    • Just the tip?

  • Ordered 2 of these last time, both didn't last longer than a couple of months, USB recharging doesn't work either.

    • +2

I've owned 3 TUBE for over a year, and they all still work (plastic broke on one of them) and they all still work.

Also own the TIP (Xmas edition) since last Xmas, and it still going strong.

    • Plenty of Fakes beware! Check youtube bigclive he review a few clones.

  • Is the upgrade from the Tube to the Tip justified?
I bought the tube from the last sale, its light which is good, and its a little bug but just small enough to live alongside keys.

I mean as a keychain light, its meant to be small and light.
Which is why I'm hesitant about the extra bulk with the Tip.
Also the price difference, $5:$19, its about x4 times more expensive.

So for a daily pocket light, is the Tip not worth it, when the option of the Tube exists?

    Cheers

    • TIP is a lot more brighter and more durable, but you are paying about 3~4x more. The dimension of the TIP is almost the same the TUBE, but twice as thick.

For a daily pocket light, the TUBE should be sufficient, unless you need the brighter light.

      • Cheers!

I guess the Tube is what 99% of scenarios require.
The Tip seems like a good blinding mechanism.
Wonder how it works out when you shine the full-360Lm at night time to a bouncer's eyes?

Chokeslam + roundhouse kick to head.

    • Tube all the way I love them. The reason for tube is because small and light. I don't want small and heavy anchor for my pockets. I have metal for my big flashlights.

  • Thanks heaps. Really wanted to try the more powerful one since I got the smaller one last deal (it's a great little light!).

  • This is a nice price. The CRI version has not been discounted before :(

    • +1

Hey, the CRI Version is currently on special using the code "TIPNDEAL" which brings it down to US $22.99 (~AU $28.97)

  • Thanks OP. Yet another torch to add to my OzBargain fuelled collection!

  • Blast. I bought one for US$17.99 but it has already been shipped. Good price.

  • These (Tube) are an excellent addition to one's keychain in my opinion. Annoyances with keychain lights (size, weight, reliability, flat batteries) will be a thing of the past.

Before this I had a Fenix E01 on my keychain out of frustration with my coin battery torches having issues after changing the batteries, or (my favourite mod) using a yellow LED run from a single 2032 battery (twice the thickness of the 2016s). But it was long, heavy and the light beam was directional rather than ambient.

  • hahaha i never even got mine.. i forget how long ago it was? 6 months???

so i just bought a LA10 from Nightcore for about $29, it runs on 1 AA battery and blows me away with the solid craftsmanship well worth the $29
it's small and compact about the size of a lipstick

  • Tube code is saying it expired

  • GearBest injects another batch (500) of NiteCore TIP with the same price and same coupon code, don't miss out this time!

  • does gearbest charge in aus $ or is there a currency conversion fee involved?

  • 30/09/2017 Update - Code still works for the Black Tube: $5. Cheers OP.

    • Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to edit post anymore as it been almost a month since I posted the deal…

  • Anyone received this yet?

    • +1

Yep, I received both my orders of the Tube and TIP.

      • How long ago?

        • +1

Ordered on the 9th September, received it last week.

        • @RichardL: Thanks. I ordered on the 9th as well. Hopefully it is due soon.

        • @No: The shipping from Gearbest varies drastically. I'm still waiting on A LOT of orders made before the 9th September.

        • @RichardL: I have noticed! I have 10 things on order with them. I paid for expedited shipping on one of them and according to DHL tracking it wasn't picked up for a week after gearbest said it had been shipped.

        • @No: Unfortunately that how Gearbest and most Chinese Stores operates. =/

        • @RichardL: Received mine finally. Its brighter and smaller then I expected, thanks!
