  • Has anyone bought this yet was wondering whether they got the key yet? i have preordered with microsoft tempted to get a refund with them for this deal?

Seems like most places offering digital keys won't be sending them out until September 25th. Might be worth trying to get the refund from MS.

      • Thanks for your response CamM, I just got off Xbox Support and they cancelled my pre order. I Also Pre Ordered it with CDKEYS and they said this when i tried to download it:
FORZA MOTORSPORT 7 ULTIMATE EDITION XBOX ONE/PC
This product is a Pre-Order, it will be available here on or slightly before the release date of 29th September 2017.

I'm sure I've preordered one game through them and the key arrived on or before the date they specified ok. Think it was Halo Wars 2.

  • I got $25 off with this deal. Also got Hoonigan Car Pack free for both Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7. Not sure if you can get them with CD keys deal. But still a good deal I think.

    • Yea i think it comes with any digital ultimate edition preorder.

      • Further investigation it doesn't look like it :/

Can anyone spell out the attraction here?

I'm a sim racing fan and after trying out Forza Horizons I'm not inclined to buy a Forza game. Felt very arcadey. The graphics were good but not really any better than something like Project Cars. I was interested in previous iterations, mainly for the Top Gear boys commentary, but I believe that is now gone.

Is this still just a console play? Or are people genuinely interested in playing this on the master platform?

    • Anyone remember when games used to cost a tiny fraction of the price of consoles?

    • Forza Horizons supposed to be more of an arcade like game. The non Horizon titles are the track simulators and aim to be more realistic.

    • Horizon is the arcade version, Motorsport series is far more sim like.

Forza is pretty new to PC so not sure how many people play, regardless if you buy the digital version you get it on both xbox and pc. Also It should have cross-platform play, so if your worried about empty lobbies don't be.

Horizon is more arcade/fun/open world. Forza is sim/career mode with real world tracks (and some fictional tracks). It's more like Project Cars than Shift.

If you have win10, you can download Forza Apex for free. It will give you a better idea of what Forza is like then horizon.

If you have xbox live, you can get Forza5 as a 'free' Games for Gold this month. I think this has the Top Gear track and commentary

      • Thanks for the tip. I must say I'm a bit worried by:

        Suggested Input: Xbox One Controller

lol, But I'll give it a whirl.

        My usual sims include:
        - Rfactor/Rfactor2
        - Richard Burns Racing (with a bunch of mods to improve and modernise it)
        - Project Cars
        - Assetto Corsa
        - GT Legends

I usually favour realism over graphics as you see there. But it depends on who I'm playing against (I'm part of a race league with a bunch of techies I used to work with). I go more graphics intensive when I'm just playing for fun. But generally skip arcadey titles completely. They just teach bad habits and frustrate me more than difficult titles, even with all the assists off.

Compared to those games, Forza Motorsport would be considered a sim-cade.

        • +1

I agree with Tony, Forza has a lot of features of a sim, but marketed/toned down for mass market. And like you've discovered, it's designed to be played with a controller, not a wheel.

I used to be a die hard pc sim racing fan, got a good'ish wheel and setup. Forza has enough sim for me to like it and I 'feel' like I'm good at it enough that I enjoy playing. Except when I look at my ranking and it's in the 10's of thousands :)

        • Agree with previous comments that Forza Motorsport is more sim-cade. As for the suggested input being the Xbox One Controller? It's designed to play wel enough via that controller to appease the casual gamer, but most serious Forza players will use a wheel. Logitech G920 is a good option.

  • So many driving games coming out soon, don't know which to get. Always been a fan of gran turismo but project cars 2 looks good so does forza 7
